Usage
Part of the Bring Shipping documentation. Previous: Configuration. Next: FAQ.
At the checkout
Section titled “At the checkout”- Bring methods show the Bring price (or your own price) and the expected delivery date.
- With the Pickup Parcel method, a card asks the customer to choose a pickup point. The list shows the pickup points and parcel lockers nearest to the delivery address, with opening hours and distance, and the customer can search another postal code. The order cannot be placed without a point. The store looks up the chosen point at Bring again, so the browser cannot forge it.
- The chosen point appears on the order page, in the order e-mails and on the invoice.
Booking a parcel (order page > Bring tab)
Section titled “Booking a parcel (order page > Bring tab)”- Check the number of packages and the total weight (taken from the products).
- Click Book at Bring and get the label. Bring returns the shipment number, the package numbers, the tracking link and the PDF label.
- Click Download label and print it. The Mybring label archive button opens your Mybring label archive.
Bookings can also start automatically when an order reaches the status set in the settings. Orders that are cancelled, declined, failed, incomplete or backordered are never booked, and neither are Multi-Vendor parent orders.
Test bookings (Test mode) show a Test badge. They do not exist at Bring, so they are not tracked and no CS-Cart shipment is recorded.
When Bring does not answer
Section titled “When Bring does not answer”If the booking call times out, the booking shows Result unknown. The add-on never books it again by itself. Every 10 minutes it looks up the order’s reference with the Bring Tracking API. When Bring has the shipment, the add-on adopts it (print its label from the Mybring label archive). Look up at Bring runs the lookup at once. If a lookup still finds nothing 30 minutes later, an administrator can click Book again.
Tracking
Section titled “Tracking”Live bookings are tracked every 4 hours for 5 days, then daily (up to 45 days). The tab shows the status (Booked, In transit, Ready for pick-up, Delivered, Needs attention) with the latest event. Refresh tracking updates it at once. A status never moves backwards.
Returns
Section titled “Returns”- Free return label: with the setting on, Norwegian domestic parcels (3584, 4850, 5000, 5600, 5800) are booked with a return label. The tab offers Return label. Bring invoices it only if the customer uses it.
- Create a return label: books a separate return (9350 inside Norway, 0341 elsewhere) with the customer as sender and your return address as recipient. Give the label to the customer.
Voiding
Section titled “Voiding”Bring’s Booking API has no cancel operation. Void the booking removes the booking and its label in the store only. It is allowed only until Bring registers the parcel moving. Do not hand the parcel over, and check unused bookings in Mybring. A new booking of the same order gets a new reference (order id plus “-2”).
Lists and logs
Section titled “Lists and logs”- Orders > Bring shipments: all bookings with status, search by order, shipment, package or reference.
- Jobs: queued work with retry and remove buttons. Run the queue now is for administrators.
- Log: calls and actions with secrets masked; CSV export.
