Usage

Part of the Colissimo Labels, Pickup Points & Tracking documentation. Previous: Configuration. Next: FAQ.

For a Home delivery method nothing changes. For a Pickup point method a card appears under the method. The customer presses Choose a pickup point:

  • With a web services application key the official Colissimo widget opens in a separate frame on the page: it has its own jQuery 3.6 and Mapbox GL 2.6.1, so the jQuery of the store is never replaced. The widget token (valid 30 minutes) is fetched by an AJAX call to your server with your key; the key and the token are never written into the page. The widget shows post offices, shops and lockers with distance and opening hours.
  • Without a key, or if the widget cannot load, a built-in list shows the points near the delivery address (the customer can type another postal code).

The browser reports only the point identifier. The server looks the point up again at Colissimo and checks that it is in the country of the delivery address, not closed and able to take the parcel, then saves what Colissimo answered. Placing the order without a point, or after changing the country, sends the customer back to the checkout with a message. The checkout is never served from the full page cache and the picker prints nothing into cacheable pages.

Open the order, tab Colissimo label and tracking, press Create label. Or set a status in the settings and let cron do it. The request is built from the order: recipient (accents removed, cut to the Colissimo limits), weight, sender, service, optional insured value and package size, and for parcels that need it the customs data. In Check only mode you get the message that Colissimo accepted the data and nothing is created.

Orders that are cancelled, declined, failed, incomplete or back-ordered get no label. A pickup point parcel in France needs a French mobile number (06 or 07) and an e-mail address of the customer, because Colissimo sends its notifications there.

The label (PDF or ZPL) is stored with the order and downloaded from the tab or from Orders > Colissimo shipments. The parcel number becomes the tracking number, with a link to the public La Poste tracking page, and, if enabled, a core shipment.

Parcels to Overseas France and to countries outside metropolitan France and the European Union need a customs declaration. The add-on sends it with the label and stores the CN23 PDF (download from the tab, up to 4 copies are requested).

  • Value. The unit value is net of tax in euros: prices with tax included are reduced by the order tax (both CS-Cart tax calculation methods are read). A store whose main currency is not the euro needs the euro in its currency list; otherwise the label is refused with a message.
  • HS code. A product feature named like “HS code” (also “HS tariff”, “tariff number”, “customs code”) with 6, 8 or 10 digits is used; otherwise the default HS code of the settings. Commercial parcels (nature 3) without any code are stopped before anything is sent.
  • Other data. Nature of the shipment (commercial parcel by default; gift, sample, document, other, return of goods), country of origin (default FR), article description (product name without accents, 64 characters), weight (kg), your EORI number for exports outside the EU, shipping cost in cents.
  • Limits. At most 100 different articles. Overseas France gets ftd and the product codes COM / CDS. The “unique label” setting prints label and CN23 on one page.

On the tab press Create return label, or Return label + e-mail to customer: Colissimo then also e-mails the label link to the customer. It is Colissimo Return France (CORE) for deliveries in France; the customer is the sender, your sender address (with a company name) the recipient. International returns (CORI, CORF) are not offered.

Cron reads the timeline tracking service. The timeline has six steps (0 announced, 1 taken in charge, 2 on the way, 3 arrived on site, 4 out for delivery, 5 delivered); the highest active step gives the status Created, In transit or Delivered, and the newest event is shown with its place and time. Open parcels are read about every 5 hours in the first 3 days, every 12 hours until day 10, then daily; delivered parcels are never read again and tracking stops 60 days after the label. Refresh tracking on the tab reads once on demand. A parcel Colissimo does not know yet (code 105) keeps its status.

If Colissimo does not answer (timeout, server error) the label may exist. The request row is saved before the call, so the state is Result unknown, it is never repeated automatically and a second click or the queue refuses to create another. Search the Colissimo Box for the customer reference shown on the tab (O<order>-<row>), then:

  • Adopt parcel: enter the parcel number. The add-on checks it with tracking (code 101 means the parcel is not on your account and is refused) and fetches the label again with getLabel when Colissimo gives it; otherwise reprint it in the Box.
  • Nothing was created at Colissimo: closes the request and allows a new label.

A label that is never scanned is not invoiced.

Cancel shipment removes the label from the store only: the Colissimo API has no cancel operation. Do not hand the parcel over.

Orders > Colissimo shipments has the shipment list, the Connection page, the Log (filters, CSV) and Jobs (retry, remove, run now for administrators). See Troubleshooting.
