Stock Statuses & Lead Times replaces the plain “In stock” / “Out of stock” text of CS-Cart with named availability statuses that tell shoppers when a product ships: “In stock”, “Only 2 left”, “Ships in 3–5 days”, “Special order”, “Coming soon” or “Discontinued”, each with its own colour, icon and lead time. Rules switch the status automatically when the stock changes, so a product that sells out in one category reads “Ships in 10 days” instead of “Out of stock”.
CS-Cart itself only knows in stock, out of stock and “Buy in advance”. This add-on changes how availability is shown; who can buy what stays exactly as CS-Cart decides (stock, out-of-stock actions, minimum quantities).
- Named statuses with a name, an optional second line, a colour, one of eight icons and a lead time in days. Texts can use
[days](lead time),[qty](stock) and[date](dispatch date), for example “Only [qty] left” or “Ships in [days] days”. - Rules by stock level (in stock, out of stock, a stock range such as 1–3), category (with subcategories), product, vendor or warehouse. The first matching rule wins; positions set the order.
- Per product: a status for “in stock” and one for “out of stock”, and a lead time of its own, in the product editor. Variations are products, so each variation can have its own.
- Dispatch date: “Dispatches by Thu, 29 Oct” from the lead time, counting business days only if you want.
- Everywhere shoppers look: product page and quick view, category and search lists, product blocks, the cart, and order details, notification e-mails and invoices (the status the product had when the order was placed).
- “Stock status” filter for the storefront filter block, created in Products → Filters like any other filter.
- Feeds: each status carries a Google Merchant Center availability value (
in_stock,out_of_stock,backorder,preorder) for product feed add-ons. - Works with the Kavio Labs Pre-Orders & Deposits add-on (pre-order products keep their pre-order label) and Purchase Orders & Suppliers (lead time of the preferred supplier).
- Multi-Vendor: vendors choose statuses for their own products and, if you allow it, create their own statuses and rules.
- Full page cache safe (4.21): the status is the same for every visitor and is refreshed when stock, statuses or rules change.
