FAQ
Does the countdown work with the full page cache?
Section titled “Does the countdown work with the full page cache?”Yes. The page contains the deadlines of the next order windows, not the remaining time. The browser computes the countdown and switches to the next window when a cut-off passes, so every visitor gets the same cached page and still sees the right time.
Which time zone is used?
Section titled “Which time zone is used?”The store time zone from Settings → Appearance → Time zone, for the cut-off, the time slots and “today”. The countdown itself is a duration, so it is right in every visitor’s time zone.
Why does a product show a later date than another one?
Section titled “Why does a product show a later date than another one?”Its processing time is longer: the product or its category has its own Processing time on the Add-ons tab. In the cart, a package waits for its slowest product.
Can customers choose a slot for one vendor and not for another?
Section titled “Can customers choose a slot for one vendor and not for another?”Yes. Every vendor package has its own shipping method and therefore its own picker (or estimate). Each vendor order stores its own slot.
How is the slot fee charged?
Section titled “How is the slot fee charged?”It is added to the shipping cost of the chosen method, so it appears in the shipping line, is taxed like shipping, goes to the vendor on Multi-Vendor and is shown on the invoice. Free-shipping promotions keep the shipping rate at zero, but the slot fee is still added.
What happens when two customers want the last place in a slot?
Section titled “What happens when two customers want the last place in a slot?”The slot is checked again when the order is placed. The second customer is asked to choose another slot. In the rare case of two orders in the same second, both are placed; the slot board shows the overbooking.
Can staff move an order to another day?
Section titled “Can staff move an order to another day?”Yes, on the order page (Change delivery). The shipping cost is not changed and capacity is not checked, so you can always move an order.
Do cancelled orders free their slot?
Section titled “Do cancelled orders free their slot?”Yes, orders in the statuses chosen in Order statuses that free a booked slot (default: Canceled, Failed, Declined) no longer count.
Does it work with real-time carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS)?
Section titled “Does it work with real-time carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS)?”Yes. Give the method its transit time on the delivery calendar. The carrier’s own delivery-time text stays in the method list as before.
Can I use it only for estimates, without a picker?
Section titled “Can I use it only for estimates, without a picker?”Yes. Leave every method on Estimate only (the default). Turn off Show the delivery estimate on product pages if you want estimates only in the cart and at checkout.
My invoice does not show the delivery line.
Section titled “My invoice does not show the delivery line.”The add-on adds the line after the shipping method of the default invoice and order summary. If you edited them and removed that line, insert {{ snippet("kv_delivery_slot") }} in Design → Documents (see Invoices and e-mails).
What does uninstalling remove?
Section titled “What does uninstalling remove?”The calendar, closed days, method settings, slots, processing times, the delivery data of orders, the settings, the snippet and its line in the documents. Orders are not touched.
What happens if the license lapses?
Section titled “What happens if the license lapses?”Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), delivery estimates, the countdown and the delivery date and time slot picker are hidden on the storefront and slot fees are not added. Checkout and orders keep working with the normal shipping rates, and the delivery data of earlier orders stays visible. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Section titled “The admin panel shows a license notice.”Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Delivery Date & Time Slots → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Section titled “Does the add-on work on my staging copy?”Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
