Compass theme changelog

All notable changes to Compass theme (kv_theme_compass) are documented here. The format follows Keep a Changelog and the project uses Semantic Versioning.

  • The footer “About us” column no longer shows the placeholder street address, phone number and e-mail address of the standard CS-Cart layout; it now carries a short neutral store text and the “About company” link.
  • Upgrading also replaces that text in the footer block of an existing installation (a block you edited yourself is left alone).
  • Rebuilt on the current theme kit (1.2.5): the generated theme files pick up the shared kit fixes; style presets look the same.
  • Compass theme for CS-Cart, CS-Cart Ultimate, Multi-Vendor and Multi-Vendor Ultimate 4.17.2 - 4.21.x: a guided-selling theme for health and supplements, personal care, pet food and coffee and tea stores, with an ask field and a sentence of goals (“Help me sleep better · more energy · …”) instead of a menu bar.
  • Homepage consultation: route dots, the question in big casual type with a highlighter, a compass dial with up to eight answers placed around the ring and a needle that turns to the chosen answer, and live matches that re-sort after every answer; result state with “your route”, Best fit and Good fit matches and a link to every match in the store with the filters set.
  • Quiz engine (Kavio theme kit 1.2.4): a quiz block whose questions are plain text, answers mapped to categories and product feature values by name, questions that depend on earlier answers, matches loaded in the browser (full page cache safe), and a form that works without JavaScript.
  • Match cards with a round image lens, why-it-fits ticks, rating, price per unit and add button; goal index; comparison in plain words with an adviser card; field notes; store reviews; a “Not sure? Ask us anything.” footer.
  • Goal pages: the category name with a highlighter, a plain-language lead, “Narrow it down” chips and a quiz card; product filters shown as questions with answer chips.
  • Product pages: the image in a round lens with a price-per-unit badge, an “Is this right for me?” checklist from a feature group, the price per unit under the price and “Compared with two alternatives”.
  • Phones: the questions first with answers two by two, a floating “Tell us what you need…” bar with the basket, a sticky buy bar, a swipe gallery and a filter sheet.
  • Four styles: Sage, Clinic, Pet and Roast (dark). Recursive variable font (SIL Open Font License, self-hosted).
  • Complete demo content (Lodestar: eight goals with 24 needs, 48 products with quiz features, units and reviews, a ready quiz, an “Autumn reset” promotion with a real end date, four field notes, store reviews, a main menu; three demo shops with shop reviews on Multi-Vendor) installed on activation.
