Getting started

Kavio Labs builds add-ons for CS-Cart and CS-Cart Multi-Vendor. This page shows the usual path from purchase to a live feature and links to the detailed guides.

Check these points first:

Requirement Details
Platform CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 or newer. See the compatibility policy.
PHP 7.4 to 8.3, limited to the range your CS-Cart version supports.
Edition Each add-on lists its edition: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor or Multi-Vendor only.
Admin access A root administrator account. Vendor administrators cannot install add-ons.
Backup A recent file and database backup (Administration → Backup/Restore).
  1. Download the package. You get a ZIP archive named like kv_<addon>-<version>.zip from the CS-Cart Marketplace or from your Kavio Labs account. Don’t unpack it if you plan to upload it through the admin panel.
  2. Install it. Go to Add-ons → Manage add-ons, click the + (Upload & install) button and choose the archive. Full instructions, including FTP installs, are in Installing an add-on.
  3. Activate it. Most add-ons turn on automatically after installation. If an add-on shows as Disabled, switch its status to Active.
  4. Configure it. Click the add-on name in the add-ons list to open its settings. Each add-on’s own Configuration page explains every option.
  5. Place blocks if needed. Add-ons with storefront widgets add new block types. Add them in Design → Layouts in the location you want.
  6. Clear the cache. If you don’t see your changes on the storefront, clear the cache. See Troubleshooting.
  • Guides cover tasks that work the same way for every add-on: installing, updating, licensing, Multi-Vendor specifics and troubleshooting.
  • Add-ons has one section per add-on with these pages:
    • Overview: what it does and which edition it supports.
    • Installation: steps specific to that add-on.
    • Configuration: every setting explained.
    • Usage: day-to-day workflows for admins, vendors and customers.
    • Developer notes: hooks, template overrides, styling and database tables.
    • FAQ and Changelog.
  • Policies cover compatibility, support and how we write changelogs.

All our add-ons use the kv_ prefix:

  • Add-on ID: kv_<addon>, e.g. kv_free_shipping_progress_bar
  • Files: app/addons/kv_<addon>/, design/backend/templates/addons/kv_<addon>/, var/themes_repository/responsive/templates/addons/kv_<addon>/
  • Database tables: cscart_kv_<addon>_… (your table prefix may differ)
  • Language variables: kv_<addon>.<key>

The prefix makes our files easy to find, back up or remove, and keeps them from colliding with other vendors’ add-ons.

Start with the add-on’s FAQ and the Troubleshooting guide. If that doesn’t solve it, contact us as described in the support policy.
