Usage

Everything Mono shows comes from standard CS-Cart data: product features, product options, product filters, categories, banners, promotions, blog posts and reviews. There are no extra tables to fill.

Create three product features of the type Multiple checkboxes (the codes are optional; features with these names work too):

Feature (code) Example variants Used by
Metal (MO_METAL) Yellow gold, White gold, Rose gold, Platinum, Sterling silver, Steel metal discs, metal bar, mega menu column, card swatches, card meta line, filter
Stone (MO_STONE) Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Pearl, Morganite, Aquamarine, Onyx gem discs, card meta line, filter
Occasion (MO_OCCASION) Engagement, Wedding, Anniversary, Birthday, Everyday, Gifts for him occasion tiles, filter

Tick every value a piece has. Add a product filter on each feature (Products → Filters): the metal discs, gem discs, occasion tiles, the metal bar and the mega menu column then open filtered lists (features_hash) that shoppers can refine further. Without filters the links still work through the features.

  • Colours of the discs follow the names: rose / pink = rose gold, white gold, platinum, silver / sterling / 925, steel / titanium, black / ceramic, everything else with “gold” or a karat = yellow gold. Stones: diamond, sapphire, emerald, ruby, pearl, morganite (pink stones), aquamarine (blue stones), amethyst, onyx (black stones); other names get a gold gem.
  • Metal bar (category and search pages): “All metals” plus one chip per metal that has pieces in the list; the chosen metal is kept when shoppers use the other filters.
  • Card swatches: from a product option named Metal (or Colour / Finish with metal names) when the piece has one, else from the Metal feature; up to four discs next to the price.

A feature Purity (MO_PURITY, Select box) with variants such as 9k (375), 14k (585), 18k (750), Platinum (950), Sterling (925) gives the hallmark stamp on cards and on the product page (the number in brackets, or the fineness of a karat: 9k = 375, 14k = 585, 18k = 750). Without a Purity feature the stamp comes from the metal name (sterling silver = 925, platinum = PT950).

Checkbox features shown as badges on the product page:

Feature (code) Badge
Certified (MO_CERT) Certified
Conflict-free (MO_ETHICAL) Conflict-free
Hallmarked (MO_HALLMARK) Hallmarked
Lifetime warranty (MO_WARRANTY) Lifetime warranty
Recycled gold (MO_RECYCLED) Recycled gold
Water resistant (MO_WATER) Water resistant
Engraving available (MO_ENGRAVE) the engraving line (see below)

More features read by Mono: Maker (MO_MAKER, Select box) above the name, Carat weight (MO_CARAT, Number) in the card line (“18k yellow gold · 0.70 ct”) and Collection (MO_COLLECTION, Select box) above the product title and for Complete the set.

Give rings a product option Ring size (Select box, one variant per size). Mono shows the sizes as buttons and adds a Size guide link next to them; it opens a chart with US / CA, UK / AU and EU sizes, the inside diameter and the circumference, and three tips for measuring at home. An option named just Size gets the link too when the product’s main category is a ring category (its name contains ring, band, engagement, wedding, eternity or signet). Options such as Metal, Chain length or Length show as buttons as well.

  • Products with the checkbox feature Engraving available show an engraving line under the badges.
  • A product option of the type Text named Engraving (or Personalisation, Inscription, Initials, Monogram) gets a live preview of the text on a polished gold band and a character counter (the option’s maximum length, else 20). Combine it with a price modifier or the Kavio Product Options Pricing add-on to charge per engraving.

The Gift edit band block (Template) shows four price presets: Under $150, $150 – $300, $300 – $750 and $750 and over. Each opens the product search with that price range (in your primary currency), most popular first. The promises next to it (gift box, engraving, insured delivery, returns) are language variables of the add-on (Administration → Languages → Translations, search for kv_theme_mono.gifts_).

  • Hero slider: banners of the block “Mono hero” (Website → Themes → Layouts). For each graphic banner the image is the scene shown in the framed panel (the right half matters most), the banner name is the headline. On the banner page set the eyebrow, the text, the button labels, a second button, the HUD line (shown as the hallmark stamp, for example PT950 · 750) and a paired product for the price sticker (Kavio banner details). Slides change every 7 seconds (block setting), never on their own for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
  • Best sellers / New in / Engagement: product blocks with the user class kv-tabs next to each other become one tabbed section.
  • Promo banners: the block “Mono promos” (two or three banners).
  • Makers we carry: an HTML block; edit the names and links. On Multi-Vendor the maker cards replace it.

Under the tabs Mono offers the piece with up to two of the most popular pieces of the same Collection from other categories (in stock). They are added to the cart in one go; shoppers can untick items. Stores running the Kavio Frequently Bought Together add-on see that add-on’s block instead.

Website → Themes → Styles: Ivory, Onyx, Bordeaux, Sapphire. Colours and fonts can be changed in the Theme editor per style.
