FAQ

How is this different from the core “Purchase order” payment method?

Section titled “How is this different from the core “Purchase order” payment method?”

The core method only collects a PO number; the order is then a normal open order. B2B Net Terms & Credit Limits decides who may pay later (credit accounts, usergroup terms, applications), checks every order against a credit limit, gives the order a due date and its own status, tracks payments and partial payments, reminds customers and lets them pay invoices online.

Only signed-in customers whose credit account is active and has a credit limit (an own account or usergroup terms). Guests and other customers never see it, so you do not need to restrict the method by usergroup.

What happens when an order is larger than the available credit?

Section titled “What happens when an order is larger than the available credit?”

By default the order is blocked and the customer chooses another payment method or pays open invoices first. With “Place it for credit review” the order is placed with the status Credit review: you approve it (the terms start that day) or reject it (the order is cancelled and its stock returned). Each account can override the store default.

Is stock reserved for orders on net terms?

Section titled “Is stock reserved for orders on net terms?”

Yes. Awaiting payment (net terms) and Credit review keep the stock reserved like an open order. A rejected review returns it.

No. Both statuses have “payment received” off, so reports and Multi-Vendor payouts treat the order as unpaid until the invoice is paid and the order moves to Processed (configurable).

Yes, with any of your online payment methods, through the payment link in the invoice e-mail, the reminders, the order page or the Invoices & credit page. The payment is made on the same order (like core repay), so there is no second order and no double revenue. A failed card payment never cancels the order.

Yes, on the order page (per invoice) or on the account page (one amount applied to the oldest due invoices first), with a reference, date and note. The customer gets a receipt unless you untick it.

Net N from the invoice date: the end of the day N days after the order date. Net N EOM: N days after the last day of the order month. An order placed for credit review gets its due date when you approve it.

Can I see what customers owe and how late they are?

Section titled “Can I see what customers owe and how late they are?”

Customers → Net terms & credit: the accounts list with open and overdue balances, the invoice list with an overdue filter, the aging report (current, 1–30, 31–60, 61–90, 90+ days) and per-customer statements. All of them export to CSV.

The statement opens as a clean printable page; use your browser’s Print → Save as PDF. CS-Cart’s own PDF generation relies on an external converter service, which the add-on does not use.

The marketplace grants the credit and carries the risk. Each vendor sub-order is its own invoice; it counts for the vendor’s payouts once it is paid. Vendors see a read-only invoice panel on their orders.

Does it work with store credit, quotes and VAT validation?

Section titled “Does it work with store credit, quotes and VAT validation?”

Yes. With our Store Credit Wallet the invoice is the order total after store credit. Accepted quotes from our B2B Quote Request add-on are checked out like any cart and can be paid on terms. With our EU VAT Number Validation add-on the application form is prefilled with the customer’s VAT number, and reverse-charge orders are invoiced at their net total.

Can I combine net terms with pre-order deposits?

Section titled “Can I combine net terms with pre-order deposits?”

No. Pay deposit orders with an online method; use net terms for orders paid in full on account.

Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?

Section titled “Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?”

Yes. Nothing is printed on cacheable pages; checkout, account pages and the payment page are never cached.

The add-on’s tables (accounts, invoices, payments, applications, history), settings, language variables, e-mail templates and privileges. The order statuses and the payment method stay if orders use them. Orders are never changed. Export what you need first.

Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), customers can no longer choose net terms for new orders and no new applications are accepted. Existing open invoices stay payable through their links and stay manageable in the admin, including reminders. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → B2B Net Terms & Credit Limits → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.

Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.yourstore.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.

What happens if your license server is down?

Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”

Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.

Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?

Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”

No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront never runs it.
