Usage

Vendors open Orders → Analytics in the vendor panel. Administrators open the same page from Orders → Vendor analytics → Marketplace dashboard (the whole marketplace) or by clicking a vendor in the comparison (that vendor’s dashboard, exactly as the vendor sees it; a note above the figures says so). The Show selector switches between the whole marketplace and any vendor.

On the add-on’s own admin pages a license status bar is shown at the top (see License); vendors never see it.

  • Period: Last 7, 30 or 90 days, This month, Last month, This year, Last 12 months, or Custom dates (pick the first and the last day). Custom ranges are limited to about three years.
  • Compare with: the previous period of the same length, the same period last year, or no comparison. This month and Last month are compared with the previous calendar month, This year with the same part of last year.
  • The line under the filters shows both ranges and when the figures were calculated. Refresh recalculates them (see the cache in Configuration).

The chart groups the period by day (up to about 45 days), by week (Monday to Sunday, up to about 200 days) or by month.

Figure How it is calculated
Revenue Sum of the order totals (including shipping and taxes, after discounts) of the vendor’s orders placed in the period in a counted status. In the admin panel the marketplace total is the sum over all vendors.
Orders Number of those orders. A marketplace order with products of several vendors counts once per vendor (CS-Cart splits it into one order per vendor; the parent order is never counted).
Average order value Revenue ÷ orders.
Items sold Sum of the product quantities in those orders.
Customers Distinct customers (registered customers by account, guests by e-mail address).
Returning customers Share of the period’s customers who had bought from the same vendor before the period started. Shown for a vendor, not for the whole marketplace.
Product views Product page views of the vendor’s products in the period, counted once per product and visitor session. Search engine bots and staff are not counted.
Cart adds Times the vendor’s products were added to a cart in the period.
View-to-order rate Orders per 100 product views. Per product in the tables: orders containing the product per 100 views of it.
Refunds Refunded amounts recorded in vendor accounting in the period (order edits and RMA refunds, payout type Order refunded), with the number of refunded orders and, when the RMA add-on is active, the number of return requests.

Every figure shows the change against the comparison period (an up or down arrow and a percentage; for refunds, an increase is shown as negative) and the value of the comparison period.

The chart shows revenue, orders or product views (switch with the buttons above it) for the selected period as a solid line and the comparison period as a dashed line. Hover over the chart to see the values of a day, week or month with the matching comparison date. Show as table lists every point with revenue, orders, items, views and cart adds.

All orders of the period by status, with the statuses that count as sales marked with a check mark. Use it to see cancellations, declined payments and orders still open.

Read from CS-Cart vendor accounting (Vendors → Accounting), so the numbers match it:

  • Current balance: the vendor’s balance today, as on the Accounting page.
  • Earnings in the period: the vendor’s income from orders in the period after commission.
  • Commission in the period: the marketplace commission on the vendor’s orders in the period (shown when Vendor plans is active).
  • Paid out in the period: completed payouts and withdrawals.
  • Pending withdrawal requests: requests waiting for approval.

For the whole marketplace the panel shows the commission earned, the payouts made and the pending requests of all vendors. Open accounting leads to the core Accounting page.

The vendor’s revenue, average order value and conversion next to the median of all vendors with sales in the period. It appears only when at least 3 vendors have sales, and it never names another vendor. It can be turned off in the settings.

Top products, most viewed products, top customers

Section titled “Top products, most viewed products, top customers”
  • Top products: the vendor’s best sellers by revenue, with quantity, orders, views, cart adds and conversion.
  • Most viewed products: the products with the most views. Products with many views and few orders are good candidates for better photos, descriptions or prices.
  • Top customers: the best customers by revenue, with orders, average order value and the date of the last order. Guests are marked. Vendors see this list only when the setting allows it.

A product that was deleted or now belongs to another vendor is listed with its name from the order and marked not available.

Orders → Vendor analytics lists every vendor with sales in the period (and, with Include vendors without activity, all vendors):

  • revenue, share of the marketplace revenue, change against the comparison period, orders, average order value, items sold, customers, product views, conversion, refunds and commission (when Vendor plans is active);
  • sort by any column (click the column title), search by vendor name, filter by vendor status and vendor plan;
  • totals for the listed vendors at the top;
  • click a vendor to open its dashboard as the vendor sees it.

On screens narrower than 1280 px the items, customers and refunds columns are hidden; they are always in the CSV export. Orders of products owned by the marketplace itself (no vendor) are listed as Marketplace (own products).

  • Vendor dashboard: Export CSV (top right) for Sales over time (one row per day, week or month), Top products, Most viewed products and Top customers. The links next to each list export the same files. Exports contain every row, not only the top 10.
  • Vendor comparison: Export CSV exports the listed vendors with the current filters and sort order.
  • Files are UTF-8 with a byte order mark (Excel opens them correctly), comma separated, with the period in the file name. Cells that a spreadsheet would run as a formula are prefixed with an apostrophe.
  • Vendors export only their own data, and only when Vendors can export CSV is on.

All figures are calculated with a few aggregate queries on indexed columns of the orders, order products and vendor payouts tables, and cached for the configured number of minutes per vendor and period. The view counter adds one small database write per first product view in a visitor session and per add to cart; it never prints anything on the storefront and does not affect the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21.
