What customers see
Section titled “What customers see”The customer starts typing the street in the checkout. After three characters a list of matching addresses opens under the field. Arrow keys and Enter or a tap pick an address; the add-on then fills:
- the street with the house number in the local order (“350 5th Avenue”, “Unter den Linden 77”);
- the apartment or suite into the second address line, when your form has one and it is empty;
- city, state (as your store’s state code), country and zip code.
In the core checkout the shipping rates are recalculated right away for the new city, as when the customer types the city by hand. Escape closes the list and the customer can type the address freely.
Dashboard
Section titled “Dashboard”Settings > Address Autocomplete shows:
- provider requests today and the share of the daily cap;
- addresses filled in the last 30 days and the provider requests per filled address;
- requests stopped by the caps;
- a chart of the last 30 days (suggestion requests, address details requests, stopped requests) and the provider errors;
- the setup checklist, a Test connection box that sends one request with the saved key and shows the answer or Google’s error text, and the key restriction guide.
