Installation

Requirements

• CS-Cart, CS-Cart Ultimate, Multi-Vendor or Multi-Vendor Ultimate 4.17.2 – 4.21.x.
• For the reels, the core Banners add-on; for the journal, the core Blog add-on; for the comment bubbles, the core Comments and reviews add-on; for ratings, the core Product reviews add-on; for the drops card, the core Newsletters add-on.
• Administrator access to the admin panel.

Install

1. Download kv_theme_reel-<version>.zip from your Kavio Labs or CS-Cart Marketplace account.
2. Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons, click the gear button, choose Manual installation and upload the archive. The add-on Reel theme installs the Reel theme files. It does not change your storefront.
3. Enter your licence key: Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Reel theme → Settings → License (see Configuration).
4. Open Website → Themes, find Reel and click Activate. CS-Cart asks whether to apply the theme’s recommended settings (Grid and Feed product list views, 24 products per page, portrait images without a background colour); accept them for the intended look.
5. Open any admin page once: Reel adds its demo content (mollo.: eight categories with 26 subcategories, 47 products with sizes, skin types, how-to steps and reviews, a lipstick with four shade variations, a cushion with a shade option, a pre-order and a “notify me” product, three catalog promotions with real end dates, six reels, four routines, four journal posts and a main menu; on Multi-Vendor four demo shops) and points the homepage blocks at it. A notice confirms it. Turn the setting Install the demo content when the theme is activated off before step 4 to start with an empty design.
6. Choose a style: Papaya, Ink, Seafoam or Velvet.

The theme brings its own layout (pill header, stories and reels, routine builder, tiles and feeds, category header with pill filters, product page sections, bag drawer, footer). Layouts of your other themes stay untouched; switching back to your previous theme brings them back.

Upgrade

Upload the new package the same way (Manual installation over the installed add-on), or install the upgrade package in Administration → Upgrade center. Then open any admin page once: the add-on updates the installed theme files. Files you changed yourself (for example a style edited in the Theme editor) are kept, and a notice lists them. Your layouts and blocks are never replaced, and the demo content is never added twice.

Uninstall

1. Switch every storefront to another theme in Website → Themes.
2. Uninstall Reel theme in Add-ons → Manage add-ons. The Reel theme files and its layouts are removed. The demo products, categories, banners, shops, promotions and posts stay (they are normal items); delete the ones you do not need.

If a storefront still uses Reel when you uninstall the add-on, the theme files are kept and that storefront shows the standard Responsive look until you install the add-on again or switch the theme.
