FAQ
Do I need a pet database or special product fields? No. Fetch reads pets, life stages, breed sizes and diets from standard product features (multiple checkboxes) and bag sizes from a normal product option. You edit them on the product page or in the product import. See Usage.
Where are the “My pets” profiles stored? Is that personal data? In the shopper’s browser only (localStorage). Nothing is sent to your store, nothing is saved in your database, and the pages stay the same for every visitor (cache friendly). Shoppers remove a pet with the pencil button or by clearing their browser data.
The price per kg is missing on a product. Name the variants of the size option as plain weights (“2 kg”, “500 g”, “4.4 lb”) or fill the number feature Net weight (kg). Variants such as “Small, 2-10 kg” (a dog weight range) are not pack sizes and are ignored on purpose. Check that Price per kg is on in the settings.
Does Fetch sell subscriptions or autoship? No. The Repeat delivery hint appears only when your store runs a subscription or repeat-order add-on; the schedules and payments are handled by that add-on.
My product photos have a white background. Do they work? Yes. Product images stand in a softly tinted arch; photos with a white background show as a framed picture. Cut-out images (transparent background) look best.
The food finder searches all products, not only food. It looks for a subcategory with “food” in its name under the department of the chosen pet (Dog → Dog food). Rename or add such a category, or keep the search across the whole department.
Does Fetch work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. Theme output holds only catalogue data; My pets, the food finder and the starter kit totals run in the shopper’s browser, and cart and wish list counters come from the standard blocks.
What happens when the licence expires? The storefront shows the standard Responsive look; your store keeps selling. See Configuration.
