Is the core checkout not one page already?

Section titled “Is the core checkout not one page already?”

Yes. Since the Lite checkout, CS-Cart shows all steps on one page, in one long column with a small summary. This add-on changes how that page is laid out and which fields it asks for: columns, a summary that stays in view, a phone bar, and one screen for the fields.

No. The blocks, the form and the order placement stay the core ones. The add-on changes their order and wrapper. With the add-on off, the page is the same as before.

We tested real orders with offline methods only (money order and cash on delivery types). Online gateways such as PayPal or Stripe were not run. They use the same core form and order placement, so we expect them to work, but we have not proven it. Try your gateway in Preview mode first. If one misbehaves, tick Use the standard checkout for it on the Payments tab: customers who pick it get the standard page.

What if my payment add-on needs the standard page?

Section titled “What if my payment add-on needs the standard page?”

Tick it on the Payments tab. Customers who pick it reload into the standard page with that method selected, and what they typed goes along.

We tested it at 1440, 768 and 390 px on CS-Cart 4.17.2 with these themes: Responsive, Bright, and the Kavio Labs Atlas, Pulse, Atelier and Aurora themes. The add-on ships its templates for the Responsive theme and uses scoped styles, so other themes based on Responsive should work, but we have not tested them. The Nova theme of CS-Cart 4.21 is not tested yet.

Multi-Vendor 4.21.2 was auto-tested: PHP 8.3 syntax and a compile of every template on the 4.21.2 engine, without a run on a 4.21 store. CS-Cart (Ultimate) 4.21 was not available to us.

Does it work with add-ons that add to the checkout?

Section titled “Does it work with add-ons that add to the checkout?”

Blocks of other add-ons appear on the Layout tab and stay on the page. Add-ons that use core checkout hooks print where they did before. Our test store ran it next to our delivery date, gift wrap and free shipping progress add-ons.

Is my customer’s data stored anywhere new?

Section titled “Is my customer’s data stored anywhere new?”

Typed values stay in the customer’s browser tab (session storage) between typing and the core’s own save, and are removed when the order is placed. Passwords and card data are never kept. You can turn this off with Keep what the customer typed after a reload.

Why is the note kept even if I change shipping?

Section titled “Why is the note kept even if I change shipping?”

In our tests on CS-Cart 4.17.2 the standard page also keeps the note when shipping or payment change. The two real gaps we found, and closed, are: a note the customer deleted came back, and everything typed in the last 5 seconds was lost on a reload.

No. Core needs Country and City to rate shipping, and E-mail to place the order, so they stay. State and zip code can be hidden.

Can I keep the field rules but use my own layout?

Section titled “Can I keep the field rules but use my own layout?”

Choose One column or Two columns, and arrange the blocks on the Layout tab.

On the add-on’s License tab, or enter your CS-Cart Marketplace license number in Add-ons > Manage add-ons.

What happens if the license expires or is not valid?

Section titled “What happens if the license expires or is not valid?”

Customers get the standard CS-Cart checkout again with your own field setup, and your layout, field and payment settings are kept. After the update period the add-on keeps working; only updates and support stop.

One license covers one CS-Cart installation. Subdomains of the licensed domain are included.

No. Development and staging hosts (localhost, *.test, dev., staging. subdomains) never need a license.

Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
