FAQ
Do I need my own Mercado Libre application?
Section titled “Do I need my own Mercado Libre application?”Yes. You create an application in the Mercado Libre developer center and enter its App ID and Secret Key on the Connection page. The add-on never uses a shared key, and Mercado Libre shows your application’s name when the seller grants access.
Is there a sandbox?
Section titled “Is there a sandbox?”No. Mercado Libre offers test users on the production API instead. Create a test seller and a test buyer for your site (see Installation), authorize the add-on in Test mode with the test seller and trade between the two.
Which sites are supported?
Section titled “Which sites are supported?”Mexico (MLM), Brazil (MLB), Argentina (MLA), Chile (MLC), Colombia (MCO), Uruguay (MLU) and Peru (MPE). One site per account; the currency and category language follow it. Category names come from Mercado Libre in Spanish or Portuguese.
Why does a product need a barcode?
Section titled “Why does a product need a barcode?”The barcode is sent as the item’s SELLER_SKU, which is how stock, price and orders are matched back to your products. When it is a valid GTIN (EAN, UPC, ISBN) it is also sent as GTIN. Categories that require a GTIN refuse products without one; categories that only prefer one get the reason “No registrado” instead.
What does the category predictor do?
Section titled “What does the category predictor do?”It asks Mercado Libre which category fits a text (for example a product title) and shows the answer first in the category search. Mercado Libre may moderate items that are listed in a category other than the predicted one.
Does it send invoices or fiscal documents?
Section titled “Does it send invoices or fiscal documents?”No. Brazilian fiscal notes (NF-e) and other invoices are not sent in this version.
Does it cancel orders or handle returns at Mercado Libre?
Section titled “Does it cancel orders or handle returns at Mercado Libre?”No. Seller cancellations, claims and returns are handled in Mercado Libre. A cancelled order still becomes a cancelled CS-Cart order.
Does it need the notification address?
Section titled “Does it need the notification address?”It is recommended: orders then arrive within the next queue run instead of the next sync. Without it the add-on polls the order list, so nothing is lost.
Can I list variations (size, colour)?
Section titled “Can I list variations (size, colour)?”Not in this version. Every CS-Cart product becomes one simple item.
Is it endorsed by Mercado Libre?
Section titled “Is it endorsed by Mercado Libre?”No. It uses the public Mercado Libre API under your own account and application.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
