FAQ
Is this a native app or a website in a frame? Both, on purpose. The pages are your live storefront in the system web view (Android WebView, iOS WKWebView), so everything you have on the website works in the app. Navigation, splash screen, offline screen, notifications, the inbox, sharing, rating and deep links are native code.
Will Apple accept it? Apple’s guideline 4.2 rejects apps that are only a repackaged website. This app adds native navigation, push notifications with an inbox, offline handling, sharing and Universal Links, and the Build and publish page gives you App Review notes that list them. Apple decides every review on its own; we cannot promise approval. Also offer account deletion in your store and a demo customer account for the reviewer.
Do I need to publish it myself? The app is published under your own Google Play and Apple developer accounts. You or your developer build it from the downloaded source project with Android Studio and Xcode (a Mac is needed for iOS).
What does push cost? Firebase Cloud Messaging is free. The add-on sends with your own Firebase project; there is no fee from us per message or per device.
Do I have to rebuild the app when I change something? Not for tabs, colours, hidden parts, link rules or the required version: the app reads them from your store at every start. A new build is needed for the app name, icon, splash screen, package name and a new version number.
Which payment methods work in the app? The same as on your website. Redirects to payment pages and 3-D Secure stay inside the app and return to the store.
My theme header is not hidden in the app.
Add your theme’s selector on Navigation → Hide these parts, for example .ty-header or #header. Use the phone
preview to check it.
Multi-Vendor: do vendors get their own app? No, the marketplace has one app with all vendors, including vendor storefronts and microstores. Push campaigns are sent by marketplace administrators only.
CS-Cart with several storefronts? Each storefront has its own app configuration, campaigns and devices. Select the storefront in the admin panel first.
What data does the app store? A random installation ID, the push token, platform, OS and app version, the signed-in customer and the last opening time. It does not read contacts, location or advertising IDs.
