Off-site Backup

Edition: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor · Latest version: 1.0.0 · Compatible with: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x, PHP 7.4 – 8.3 · Changelog: view

Off-site Backup makes scheduled database and files backups of your CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor store, checks them, can encrypt them, uploads them to your own S3-compatible bucket or FTP/FTPS server and verifies the copy there.

  • Separate schedules for the database (every 6 or 12 hours, daily, weekly) and the files (daily, weekly, monthly), at the hour you choose.
  • Destinations: AWS S3, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Cloudflare R2, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO or any S3-compatible storage (your own bucket and keys), FTP and FTPS (explicit TLS).
  • Archives made by the core Backup/Restore engine (ZIP or TGZ), checked before the upload (the archive is opened and read to the end).
  • Optional AES-256 encryption on your server before the upload, in the OpenSSL file format: decrypt with one openssl command.
  • Verification after every upload: remote size, plus the MD5 checksum (Content-MD5 on upload, ETag check on S3 storage).
  • Big archives go up in parts (S3 multipart upload); requests are retried on network errors.
  • Retention per type (keep the last N archives at the destination, N local copies); it deletes only archives the add-on uploaded.
  • Dashboard: last backups, next runs, archives with download and delete, run log with every step, connection test.
  • Alerts in the admin panel when a backup fails, backups are overdue or the cron stopped.
  • Files: code, themes, images, attachments and config, with your own exclusions (thumbnails excluded by default).
  • It does not restore automatically. Restoring is a manual step: see Usage.
  • It does not replace a backup by your hosting company. Keep both.
  • It does not create storage accounts. You need your own bucket or FTP server; the storage provider bills you for the space.
  • CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 to 4.21.x (tested on 4.17.2; 4.21.2 template compile and PHP 8.3 checked).
  • PHP 7.4 to 8.3 with cURL (S3) or the FTP extension (FTP/FTPS), and the zip extension or Phar for archives.
  • A cron job (command line or URL) for scheduled backups.
