FAQ

Does it work with keys of new Google Cloud projects? Yes. The add-on uses Places API (New) over its REST interface, which new projects can enable. It does not use the legacy Places service.

Is my API key visible in the browser? No. The browser calls the add-on’s own endpoint on your store; only your server talks to Google or Geoapify.

Will it replace my checkout fields? No. It adds a suggestion list to the street field you already have and fills your existing fields.

What if the provider is down or a cap is reached? The list does not appear and the customer types the address by hand. Errors are shown on the dashboard.

Does Google charge for this? Google bills your Google Cloud account per request after the monthly free usage. The add-on reduces requests (minimum characters, pause, caps, session tokens) and counts them on the dashboard. Geoapify has a free daily allowance.

Does it work with one-step checkout layouts? Yes, with layouts that keep the core checkout fields (including our One Step Checkout add-on). Checkout add-ons with their own form markup are not covered.

Is it compatible with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. The script and its options are the same for every visitor; suggestions are loaded with separate requests that are never cached.

Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
