Installation
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- CS-Cart or CS-Cart Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x (tested on CS-Cart Ultimate 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1, Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1 and Multi-Vendor 4.21.2 with PHP 8.3).
- PHP 7.2.5 – 8.3 (as supported by your CS-Cart version) with the GD extension, which CS-Cart itself uses for thumbnails. Text in proofs needs GD with FreeType (standard in most PHP builds); without it proofs use a plain built-in font.
- A theme based on Responsive, Bright or Nova (the personalizer uses the core product options hook of the product page).
Install
Section titled “Install”- Go to Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click the gear icon and choose Manual installation.
- Upload
kv_product_personalizer-1.0.0.zipand click Upload & install. - Enter your license key under Settings > License (or the Marketplace license number in Add-ons > Manage).
- Open Products > Personalization templates, create a template and assign it to a product or category. Open the product on the storefront: the personalizer is shown below the product options.
The add-on creates its tables (templates, views, print areas, fields, options, assignments, uploads and ordered items), the menu items Products > Personalization templates and Orders > Personalized items, one e-mail template (Design > Email templates) and the notification group Personalization (Administration > Notifications). Uploaded images and proofs are stored in var/kv_product_personalizer/, a folder that is never served to browsers directly.
Privileges
Section titled “Privileges”Two privileges in the group Personalization: View personalization (templates, personalized items, proofs, downloads, production sheets) and Manage personalization (edit templates, review proofs). Administrators without them do not see the menu items.
On Multi-Vendor, vendor administrators always see Orders > Personalized items for their own orders, and Products > Personalization templates for their own products while Vendors manage their own templates is on.
Cron (recommended)
Section titled “Cron (recommended)”Images and proofs that never became part of an order are removed after Keep unused uploads for (days). The cleanup runs at most once per hour while the admin panel is used. On stores with little admin traffic, add this command to cron (hourly):
php /home/yourstore/public_html/admin.php --dispatch=kv_product_personalizer.cleanupWeb server
Section titled “Web server”The add-on stores its files as <hash>.bin (never with an image extension) and writes a deny-all .htaccess and an index.php into var/kv_product_personalizer/. On Nginx, keep the standard CS-Cart rule that denies direct access to /var/. Customers and staff download files only through the store, after the access check.
Upgrading
Section titled “Upgrading”Upload the new package over the installed add-on (Add-ons > Manage add-ons > Manual installation) or use the Upgrade Center. Templates, uploads and ordered items are kept; the add-on adds missing tables, settings and texts by itself after the files are replaced.
Uninstalling
Section titled “Uninstalling”Uninstalling removes the add-on’s tables, settings, texts, e-mail template, privileges and the folder var/kv_product_personalizer/ with every uploaded image and proof. Existing orders keep their prices, but their personalization details, proofs and uploads are no longer shown. Print or download what you still need first. Disabling the add-on instead keeps everything.
