Usage

Ridge reads everything from standard CS-Cart data: banners, categories and their images, product features, catalog promotions, blog posts and Block Manager blocks. This page shows which data feeds which part of the design.

The chapters are a Banners block with the template “Chapters with products (Ridge theme)” (Website → Themes → Layouts → Homepage → Ridge chapters). Each graphic banner is one full-screen chapter; the order of the block is the order of the chapters (two to six work best).

  • Banner image: the scene (a landscape photo or illustration, at least 1920 × 1080 px). Keep the main subject in the centre or the right half; the text sits on the left (odd chapters) or the right (even chapters) over a shade.
  • Banner name: the headline (short: two to four words).
  • Banner URL: the first button.

Open a banner (Marketing → Banners) and fill Ridge theme: chapter details below the standard fields (new banners: save once first):

Field Where it shows
Eyebrow the small line above the headline, next to “Chapter 01”
Short text under the headline one or two sentences
Button label the label of the first button (default “Shop now”)
Second button label + URL the outline button
Product shown on the banner the product cut-out with its spec callouts and the price card
Countdown to the end of this promotion the price card countdown; “Automatic” uses the product’s own catalog promotion
Detail line the small line at the top of the scene (a place, a height, conditions)
Darker overlay behind the text for bright photos
Image for phones a portrait crop of the scene (1080 × 1350 px)

Texts are saved for the language you edit; the product, promotion, overlay and phone image apply to every language. Without chapter details a banner shows its name and its button only. A text banner shows its own HTML.

Ridge places products on dark plates and on scenes. Product images with a transparent background (PNG or WebP cut-outs) look best; photos on a white background are shown as they are.

  • Callouts on chapters and product pages: the features with Show in product header (up to four, in feature position order), e.g. Volume, Weight, Waterproof rating. Weights in grams from 1,000 g show in kilograms.
  • Spec chips on cards: the first three features with Show in product list.
  • Gauges (“Built for” on product pages): every number feature as a 10-step meter against the lowest and highest value of the same feature in the product’s top-level category (features with “weight” in the name or code count lower as better); text features with a “from-to” value (“-4 to +8 °C”, “8-14 kg”) as a range bar; a “Seasons” value such as “3+ season” as a 4-step meter. Up to five gauges.
  • Fit box: a select feature named “Fit” (code ending in FIT) with the variants Runs small, True to size, Runs large.
  • Collection line above the product name: a feature named Collection or Brand (code ending in LINE, COLLECTION or BRAND), next to the product code.

The variants of the conditions feature (setting Conditions feature) appear as chips on the Gear check row with the number of active products, as icons on cards and as the Built for chips (the product’s own conditions filled). The All rain gear link under the row opens the product search filtered by that condition when the feature has a product filter (Products → Filters).

Deal prices come from catalog promotions (Marketing → Promotions) or list prices. Every countdown (price cards, cards, the deals clock, the product page deal line) counts to the real end date of the product’s active catalog promotion; a promotion without an end date shows the sale price without a timer. The Last light deals band shows nothing when its block has no products on sale.

The cart drawer’s Complete your kit rows are the products block “Complete your kit (cart)” in the header (shown in the drawer while the cart has items). Product pages have a Complete your kit row under the tabs.

  • Category header: the category’s own image, else the closest parent’s image (give your top-level categories a landscape image, 1600 × 900 px or more). The lead is the first paragraph of the category description (180 characters).
  • Product page scene: the image of the product’s main category (or its parent).
  • Vendor page (Multi-Vendor): the image of the top-level category with most of the shop’s products.

The main menu uses the template “Full-screen menu (Kavio theme)”: a row of sports on wide screens, a full-screen menu with big sport names on phones. A menu item whose link contains “outlet” is shown in the accent colour.

The person icon in the header is the standard Account block (sign in, register, orders, sign out); the cart button opens the cart drawer.
