Configuration

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Vendor Vacation Mode → Settings. All settings are marketplace-wide. Vendors cannot change them.

Setting Default Description
Allow vendors to manage their vacation mode On On: vendors get a Vacation mode page in their panel and can turn it on and off, set dates and write a message. Off: the page is not available to vendors (access is denied), and only administrators can manage vacations. Existing vacations keep working either way.
Email the administrator when a vendor turns vacation mode on On Sends the Vendor vacation mode: vendor went on vacation email to the Site administrator address (Settings → Company) when a vendor switches vacation mode from off to on. Changes made by administrators do not send emails. The email contains the vendor name, dates, message and a link to the vendor’s vacation page.
Setting Default Description
Products of vendors on vacation Disable add to cart See product modes below.
Products already in the cart Block checkout until the products are removed See checkout protection below.
Show a banner on the vendor’s store pages On Shows the vacation banner on the vendor’s product listing (companies.products) and the vendor information page (companies.view).
Show a banner on the vendor’s product pages On Shows the banner under the product title on the product page of every product of the vendor.
Show the expected return date On Adds the vendor’s end date to the banner, the replaced add-to-cart button, cart notes and notifications (“…on vacation until May 20, 2026”). Has no effect when the vendor did not set an end date.
Variant Storefront behaviour
Keep selling, show a “ships after” notice Products stay visible and purchasable. The banner says that orders will ship after the vacation (with the date if known). Cart items get the note “Ships after date”. Good for pre-order style marketplaces.
Disable add to cart Products stay visible in categories, search and blocks. On product pages and product lists, the Add to cart button is replaced with “Vendor is on vacation until date”. The server also refuses add-to-cart requests for these products (for example from bookmarks, quick view or old pages).
Hide from catalog and search, disable add to cart Everything from Disable add to cart, plus the vendor’s products are removed from all storefront product lists: categories, search, the vendor’s store page, product blocks and offers lists. Direct links to product pages still work (the page shows the banner and no add-to-cart button), so search engines don’t see 404 errors.

This setting covers products that customers added to their carts before the vacation started.

Variant Behaviour
Do nothing No checks.
Warn in the cart and at checkout The cart and checkout pages show a warning per vendor listing the affected products. Orders can still be placed.
Block checkout until the products are removed The cart shows an error listing the affected products; opening checkout sends the customer back to the cart; placing the order is refused (also for one-page and AJAX checkout).

When Products of vendors on vacation is set to Keep selling, Block behaves like Warn, because blocking orders would contradict a mode where products may be bought.

Checks only run on the storefront. Orders created by administrators in the admin panel (Order management) are never blocked.

The license status is shown in a License card at the top of the add-on page, above the tabs, so you see it on every tab. The License tab holds the key itself. The key is stored once for the whole installation (not per storefront).

License card on the add-on page: status, licensed domain, storefronts, last and next check, with Change license key, Check now and Manage license

The License card shows:

  • the status in color: green when valid, blue for a development host or the 14-day period before a key is required (with the days left), amber when the license server could not be reached (with the days left) or a Marketplace number is still being verified, red when the add-on is switched off;
  • in plain words what the status means and, when the add-on is (or will be) switched off, what stops: vacations no longer affect the storefront, so products of vendors on vacation are shown and can be bought; vendors and administrators can still manage vacations;
  • the licensed domain, every storefront with its result (covered, development host, not covered), the end of the updates and support period, the last and the next check, and the key in use (masked);
  • the actions Enter license key / Change license key (opens the License tab), Check now (verifies at once and stays on the page), Manage license (your licenses on cs-cart.kaviolabs.com) and, without a valid license, Buy a license.

In Add-ons → Manage add-ons the add-on’s row shows a small license badge next to its name, for example License: Valid or License: Pending · 9 days left. The add-on’s own admin pages show the same status in a small bar at the top.

Setting Description
License key Your Kavio Labs license key (KAVIO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, from My licenses on cs-cart.kaviolabs.com) or your CS-Cart Marketplace license number. If you entered the Marketplace license number in Add-ons → Manage add-ons (the add-on’s license field), leave this empty: the add-on uses that number.
License status Points to the License card and explains what the check sends.

What the license covers. A license is bound to the base domain you entered at purchase (for example example.com) and covers every subdomain of it (www.example.com, shop.example.com, staging.example.com). Local development hosts are always allowed: localhost, 127.0.0.1 and other private IP addresses, and host names ending in .localhost, .test, .local, .example or .invalid. A store on a different base domain needs its own license. If you move your store to a new domain, contact support.

When the add-on checks. When you save the key, and then once a day. The check runs only in the admin panel (on a page you open) or from cron, never while customers browse the storefront, and takes a few seconds at most. A cron job keeps the license verified even when nobody opens the admin panel:

php /path/to/store/admin.php --dispatch=kv_vendor_holiday_mode_license.check

What is sent. The check sends this to https://cs-cart.kaviolabs.com and nothing else: the license key, the add-on ID and version, the host names of your storefronts, your CS-Cart version and edition, and a random one-time value. No customer, order or personal data is sent. The server answers with a digitally signed result, so a forged answer is ignored.

Statuses.

Status (card) Color What happens
Valid Green The license is valid for this domain. Everything works.
Development host Blue The store runs on a local development host, which every license covers. Everything works.
Pending verification Amber A CS-Cart Marketplace license number was accepted, but the Marketplace has not confirmed it yet. Everything works.
Pending · N days left Blue No verified key yet (a new installation, or right after upgrading from 1.0.x). Everything works for 14 days.
Grace period · N days left Amber The last checks failed (for example a network problem). The add-on keeps working for 14 days after the first failed check.
Not activated, Invalid key, Revoked, Domain mismatch, Not verified Red Vacations no longer affect the storefront: no vacation notices, products of vendors on vacation are shown and can be bought, and the cart and checkout are not blocked. Vendors and administrators can still set up and change vacations in the vendor panel and the admin panel; they take effect again as soon as the license is valid. Domain mismatch shows the licensed domain next to the domain your store runs on.

When your updates and support period ends, the add-on keeps working. Only updates and support stop.

License information appears in the admin panel only, and only for administrators who may manage add-ons; vendors (Multi-Vendor) and customers never see it. When the add-on is switched off, other admin pages also show a notice once per session with a link to the add-on page; the add-on page itself shows the card instead.

Design → Email templates → Vendor vacation mode: vendor went on vacation (code kv_vendor_holiday_mode_enabled). Available variables:

Variable Content
vendor_name Vendor (company) name
start_date Formatted start date, empty if vacation starts immediately
end_date Formatted end date, empty if there is no end date
holiday_message Message entered by the vendor (plain text)
manage_url Link to the vendor’s vacation page in the admin panel

Two privileges are added to the Vendors section of user group privileges:

Privilege Grants
Vacation mode: Can view Open the vendors-on-vacation list and vacation pages
Vacation mode: Can edit Save, end, lock and delete vacations

Administrators without a user group (root administrators) always have full access. With the Vendor privileges add-on, the same privileges can be given to vendor user groups. Vendors only ever see and change their own vacation.
