Installation and setup

Requirements

• CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 or later.
• A DHL Express customer account (account number) with MyDHL API access. On developer.dhl.com sign in, open “DHL Express - MyDHL API” and request access; DHL Express sends you an API user name and password for the test environment and, after your tests, for production.
• A cron job on your server (step 7).

Install the add-on

1. Download the kv_dhl_express-<version>.zip package from your Kavio Labs or CS-Cart Marketplace account.
2. In the admin panel, open Add-ons > Manage add-ons, click the gear button, choose Manual installation and upload the archive.
3. Make sure DHL Express (MyDHL API): Rates, Labels, Customs & Pickups is Active.
4. Enter your license key under Settings > License (Kavio Labs downloads) and click Check now.

Connect DHL Express

1. Open Orders > DHL Express shipments and the Connection tab.
2. Choose Test mode, enter the MyDHL API user name and password of the test environment and your DHL Express account number.
3. Check the Ship-from address: empty fields use your company address (shown in grey). Phone, contact name, street, city and country are needed for labels. Add your VAT and EORI numbers for international shipments.
4. Click Save and test: “Connected (test)” means the credentials work and DHL picks up at the ship-from address.
5. After a test label, switch to Live with the production credentials and test again.
6. Open Administration > Shipping & taxes > Shipping methods, add a method, choose the carrier DHL Express and a product (or “best available”), and set the handling fee on the Configure tab.
7. Add the cron job shown in the add-on settings (Cron); every 5 to 15 minutes is fine.

Replacing the core DHL module

Disable the shipping methods that use the core “DHL” carrier (they no longer get rates) and create new ones with the carrier DHL Express of this add-on. The core methods are not changed or removed by the add-on.

Multi-Vendor

By default the marketplace owner connects one account for all vendors (Marketplace owner mode on); vendors see labels and tracking of their orders but cannot buy labels. Switch it off to let each vendor connect their own DHL Express account in the vendor panel.

Update

Upload the new package the same way. Settings, credentials and shipments are kept; missing tables and settings are added on the next admin page view. See CHANGELOG.

Uninstall

Add-ons > Manage add-ons, gear button, Uninstall. This removes the settings, the DHL Express shipping methods, the stored credentials and the shipment records. CS-Cart shipments with DHL waybill numbers stay on the orders.
