How is this different from the quantity settings in the product editor?

Section titled “How is this different from the quantity settings in the product editor?”

CS-Cart has a minimum, a maximum and a step per product and one store-wide minimum order amount. The add-on applies limits to whole categories, product lists or vendors at once, by customer group and storefront, and adds what CS-Cart does not have: purchase limits per customer and period, maximum order amount and quantity, mixed-case multiples across a category, limits on the number of different products and a minimum order per vendor. The product settings keep working and are combined with the rules.

No. It never writes product data. The rules are applied while shoppers add products and check out.

No. Every rule is checked on the server when the order is placed, also for orders created through the REST API. The product page and cart messages are only there so that nobody is surprised at checkout.

Several product rules match one product. Which one applies?

Section titled “Several product rules match one product. Which one applies?”

The one with the lowest priority number. Cart rules and customer limits all apply.

How are guests limited by a customer purchase limit?

Section titled “How are guests limited by a customer purchase limit?”

By the e-mail address they enter at checkout: earlier orders with that address count (setting Count guest purchases by e-mail). Before an e-mail is known, the limit applies to the cart.

Which orders count for customer purchase limits?

Section titled “Which orders count for customer purchase limits?”

Every order of the customer in the period, except failed, declined, canceled and incomplete ones.

Can I place an order that breaks a rule as an administrator?

Section titled “Can I place an order that breaks a rule as an administrator?”

Yes, with the default setting Warn and allow: the order editor shows the unmet rules as warnings. Choose Block to forbid it.

Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?

Section titled “Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?”

Yes. Product page notes are the same for every guest; per-customer counts are only read in the cart and at checkout, which are never cached.

Yes, when you switch on Vendors can set their own minimum order. Otherwise only administrators set it on the vendor page. Vendors cannot create rules.

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Min/Max Order & Quantity Rules → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.

Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.yourstore.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.

What happens if your license server is down?

Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”

Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.

Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?

Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”

No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront never runs it.
