EU Energy Label & EPREL Display

Shows the EU energy class arrow, the energy label and the product information sheet next to the price of products that carry an EU energy label, in the way the EU rules for online sales describe. Registrations can be read from EPREL, typed or imported from CSV.

What it does

Arrow near the price. An arrow in the colour of the class (A to G, or the older A+++ to D scales), the class letter in white with a black border, and the range of classes in black, on the product page, in quick view and in product lists.
Nested display. A click, tap or roll-over (your choice) on the arrow opens the label in a pop-up with a close button. The label picture is requested only at that moment. Without JavaScript the arrow opens the label in a new tab.
Product information sheet. A link that says “Product information sheet” next to the arrow on the product page.
Product fields. EPREL registration number, product group, scale, class, label (address or uploaded PNG, JPG, PDF) and sheet (address or uploaded PDF), in a tab of the product editor.
Read from EPREL. With an EPREL API key the cron job reads class, model and label from the registration number, caches the result, pauses between requests and honours the registry’s “too many requests” answers.
Bulk CSV import and export.
Multi-Vendor. Vendors manage the labels of their own products only; the marketplace owner’s key serves everyone, or each vendor can add their own.
Ultimate. Works per storefront with the same product data.
Built for the full page cache and Smarty 5. The output depends on the product and the settings only, never on the visitor. (Templates compile on Smarty 5; not yet run on a 4.21 store.)

Compatibility

CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor: tested on 4.17.2; written for 4.17.2 to 4.21.x, not yet run on 4.21.
PHP 7.4 to 8.3, depending on your CS-Cart version.
The EPREL reading needs a cron job (a command line or a secret web address; see Configuration). Everything else works without it.
