FAQ
Is this an official Etsy product? No. The term ‘Etsy’ is a trademark of Etsy, Inc. This application uses the Etsy API but is not endorsed or certified by Etsy, Inc.
Do I need to pay Etsy for API access? No. The developer app is free. Etsy’s usual listing and transaction fees apply to your shop as always.
Which Etsy app type should I create? A Seller App for your own shop (approved within minutes). If you connect shops of other sellers, create a Personal App and request Commercial Access (Etsy reviews it).
Will it publish listings and cost me fees? Only if you switch on “Publish new listings”. By default new listings are drafts you check and publish on Etsy.
Is there a test mode? Etsy has no sandbox. Keep “Publish new listings” off and test with drafts on your own shop.
Can an order be imported twice? No. Each receipt is recorded before its order is placed and locked while it is processed; repeated syncs, parallel cron runs and webhooks are safe, and the links survive an uninstall by default.
Why does an order have an address like channel-…@channel.invalid? Etsy shares the buyer’s e-mail address only with apps it approved for it. The order keeps the Etsy receipt number in its notes.
What about Etsy variations? A CS-Cart product is one Etsy listing. If you add variations on Etsy, give each variation the SKU of a CS-Cart product; that variation then gets its stock and price.
Can vendors use their own Etsy shops? Yes: switch off Marketplace owner mode. Each vendor connects their own app and shop and lists only their own products.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. The add-on adds nothing to storefront pages; its public addresses (callback, webhook, cron) are not cached pages.
My license shows “Pending verification”
Section titled “My license shows “Pending verification””This status appears in older add-on versions when you use a CS-Cart Marketplace license number that our license server has not matched with the Marketplace yet. The add-on is fully working in this state: no feature is switched off and you do not need to do anything. Newer versions show it as Active (Marketplace license). We confirm Marketplace numbers on our side; click Check now on the add-on’s License tab (Add-ons → Manage add-ons → the add-on) a little later and it shows Active. If it has not changed after 24 hours, contact support with your Marketplace order number.
