Build-a-Box Bundles lets customers fill their own box from your products: they pick a box size, choose the items on the box page and add the whole box to the cart at one box price. Think “any 3 movies for $29.99”, “6 snacks, 10% off” or a gift box of their own choosing.
Key features
Section titled “Key features”- A box builder on any product page you choose as the box page: size chips, product grid with Add and +/- buttons, category tabs, search, and a box tray with filled slots, progress, regular total, box price and saving.
- Box sizes with their own price: a fixed box price, a percent off the chosen items, or regular prices.
- Products from categories (with subcategories) and hand-picked products, with exclusions.
- Rules: the same product in several slots or not, a maximum per product, hide or show out-of-stock products, stock-aware quantities.
- Optional gift message, shown in the cart, on the order page and in the admin order.
- Exact cents: the box price is split over the item lines in proportion to their regular prices, so taxes, stock, shipping, invoices and Multi-Vendor payouts work as with any product.
- The box stays together: changing the quantity of one line changes the whole box, removing one line removes the whole box, “Edit box” in the cart reopens the builder with the same items.
- Box report: boxes sold, box revenue, average box, customer savings, most chosen products, by box and by size.
- Multi-Vendor: vendors build boxes from their own products in the vendor panel. CS-Cart Ultimate: boxes per storefront.
- Full page cache safe (4.21): the builder is static markup, the selection lives in the browser.
What it does not do
Section titled “What it does not do”- Products with product options cannot go into a box (variations are separate products and work).
- It does not mix vendors in one box on Multi-Vendor: a box holds products of the box page’s vendor.
- Catalog promotions with conditions do not reduce box items again: the box price is the deal. Cart promotions and coupons still apply to the order.
Compatibility
Section titled “Compatibility”- CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 to 4.21.x (tested on 4.17.2; 4.21.2 template compile and PHP 8.3 checked).
- PHP 7.4 to 8.3.
- Responsive-based themes: the builder is added under the product block of the box page. Nova (4.21) has the same template hooks; its templates were compile-checked, not tested live.
