Configuration
Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Commission Invoices & Vendor Statements → Settings. The settings apply to the whole marketplace.
General
Section titled “General”| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Generate invoices automatically | On | After each period ends, the invoice run creates one invoice per vendor that has something to invoice. Runs from cron or while administrators and vendors use their panel. |
| Invoice period | Monthly | Weekly (Monday to Sunday), monthly or quarterly. Periods use the time zone of your store. |
| Invoice transactions from | empty | Date (YYYY-MM-DD). Core accounting transactions before this date are never invoiced. Empty = the first day of the month the add-on was installed in. |
| Issue automatically | Off | Off: new invoices wait as drafts for your review. On: they get their number and are e-mailed right away. |
| E-mail the vendor when a document is issued | On | The vendor gets the invoice or credit note by e-mail (template Commission invoices: document issued, editable in Administration → Notifications → E-mail templates). |
| Attach the PDF to the e-mail | On | Needs the core PDF documents add-on. Without it the e-mail links to the vendor panel. |
| How vendors pay the invoices | Withheld from vendor payouts | See Settlement. |
| Payment terms (days) | 14 | Due date for open amounts = issue date + this number of days. |
| Show every transaction on the invoice | On | Adds the detail table (date, order, order amount, commission rate, amount) below the summary, so the invoice is also the vendor’s commission statement. Off: summary lines only. |
| Vendors can edit their billing details | On | Vendors edit their legal name, address, tax ID and billing e-mail in their panel. They can never change the tax treatment or rate. |
| Invoice run | The cron command, the cron URL, the start date of invoicing and the last run. |
Settlement
Section titled “Settlement”In Multi-Vendor, the marketplace collects the customer’s payment and pays the vendor its balance, which core accounting already reduced by the commission and the plan fees. The invoice then documents money the marketplace has already kept:
- Withheld from vendor payouts (default): commission, plan fees and adjustments you charge to the vendor balance count as withheld. If nothing else is due, the document is marked Paid when it is issued (“Withheld from payouts”). Tax is due separately unless Deduct the tax from the vendor balance is on.
- Vendors pay each invoice: for marketplaces where vendors receive the money themselves (for example with Direct Customer-to-Vendor Payments). Documents stay Issued with a due date until you mark them paid.
Seller details
Section titled “Seller details”What the invoices show as the issuer. Empty fields use Settings → Company; the top of the tab shows the result.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Company name | Your legal name. |
| Address | One line per row. |
| Tax ID (VAT number) | Printed as “Tax ID”. |
| E-mail, Phone | Contact lines. |
| Footer text | Printed at the bottom of every document, for example bank details, the company register or legal notes. |
The seller and the vendor’s billing details are copied into each document when it is issued, so later changes never alter an issued document.
Numbering
Section titled “Numbering”| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Invoice number prefix | CI- |
Letters, digits and - _ / . #. |
| Credit note number prefix | CN- |
Credit notes have their own sequence. |
| Restart numbering every year | On | CI-2026-00001; off: one sequence for all years (CI-00001). |
| Minimum digits | 5 | Zero padding. |
| First invoice number / First credit note number | 1 | To continue an existing sequence. It can only raise the next number, never lower it. |
| Next numbers | Shows the next invoice and credit note numbers. |
Numbers are given when a document is issued, never to drafts, so deleted drafts leave no gaps. Two administrators issuing at the same moment get consecutive numbers (database lock plus a unique key). A void document keeps its number; numbers are never reused.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Tax rate (%) | 0 | Charged on top of the taxable lines. 0 = no tax line amount. Up to three decimals. |
| Tax name | VAT | For example VAT, GST or Sales tax. |
| Default tax treatment | Standard rate | Standard rate, Reverse charge (no tax, with the reverse charge note) or Exempt (no tax, with the exemption note). |
| Commission is taxable / Vendor plan fees are taxable | On | Adjustments have their own taxable box. |
| Deduct the tax from the vendor balance | Off | Withheld settlement: when a document is issued, its tax is recorded in core accounting as a charge to the vendor (a credit for credit notes), so the document is fully settled from payouts. |
| Reverse charge note, Exemption note | Printed under the totals. Write the wording your tax adviser gives you. |
Per vendor (Vendors → Commission invoices → Billing details → vendor): tax treatment (or the default) and an own rate (empty = default). The tax is calculated once per document on the sum of its taxable lines and rounded half up to the decimals of your primary currency. The add-on contains no country-specific tax rules: you decide who gets reverse charge.
Invoice run and cron
Section titled “Invoice run and cron”The run creates the invoices of every completed period since the last run (each period once). Run it once a day:
php /path/to/store/admin.php --dispatch=kv_commission_invoices.cronor call the URL shown in the settings (it uses the cron password from Settings → Security). Without cron, the run starts at most every 30 minutes while an administrator or vendor uses the panel. Only one run works at a time.
The document template
Section titled “The document template”The layout of invoices and credit notes is a CS-Cart document template: Design → Documents → Commission invoice (Commission Invoices add-on). You can change it with the Twig editor, preview it (with the latest document or a sample) and restore the default. Variables: i (the document: number, dates, period, totals, summary, lines, notes), s (seller) and b (bill-to party). All values are already HTML-escaped. Keep the template valid for Twig 2 and 3 (no spaceless or filter tags).
Privileges
Section titled “Privileges”Administrators who are not root need, in Customers → User groups → privileges → Vendors:
| Privilege | Allows |
|---|---|
| Commission invoices: Can view | The documents list, documents, print, billing details list |
| Commission invoices: Can manage | Generate, issue, add lines, mark paid, credit notes, void, delete drafts, e-mail, billing details |
Vendors see the Commission invoices page in their panel (next to Accounting). It shows only their own issued, paid and void documents, never drafts and never other vendors’ documents.
License
Section titled “License”The license status is shown in a License card at the top of the add-on page, above the tabs. The License tab holds the key itself. The key is stored once for the whole installation.

The License card shows the status in color (green valid, blue development host or the 14-day period before a key is required, amber when the license server could not be reached or a Marketplace number is still being verified, red when the add-on is switched off), what stops when it is switched off, the licensed domain and storefronts, the end of the updates and support period, the last and next check, and the actions Enter/Change license key, Check now, Manage license and Buy a license.
When the add-on is switched off: no new invoices or credit notes are generated or issued, and CSV export, PDF files and invoice e-mails are switched off; documents already issued stay available to the admin and vendors and can still be printed, marked paid or voided. Orders and core accounting are never affected.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| License key | Your Kavio Labs license key (KAVIO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, from My licenses on cs-cart.kaviolabs.com) or your CS-Cart Marketplace license number. If you entered the Marketplace license number in Add-ons → Manage add-ons, leave this empty. |
| License status | Points to the License card and explains what the check sends. |
What the license covers. A license is bound to the base domain you entered at purchase (for example example.com) and covers every subdomain of it. Local development hosts are always allowed: localhost, private IP addresses and host names ending in .localhost, .test, .local, .example or .invalid.
When the add-on checks. When you save the key, and then once a day, only in the admin panel or from cron, never on the storefront:
php /path/to/store/admin.php --dispatch=kv_vendor_commission_invoices_license.checkWhat is sent. The license key, the add-on ID and version, the host names of your storefronts, your CS-Cart version and edition, and a random one-time value. No vendor, invoice, order or customer data. The answer is digitally signed.
Statuses.
| Status (card) | Color | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Valid | Green | Everything works. |
| Development host | Blue | Everything works. |
| Pending verification | Amber | A Marketplace license number is being verified. Everything works. |
| Pending · N days left | Blue | No verified key yet. Everything works for 14 days. |
| Grace period · N days left | Amber | The last checks failed. Everything works for 14 days after the first failed check. |
| Not activated, Invalid key, Revoked, Domain mismatch, Not verified | Red | No new invoices are generated or issued, CSV export, PDF and e-mails stop. Existing documents stay visible, printable, can be marked paid or voided. |
When your updates and support period ends, the add-on keeps working. Only updates and support stop.
