Usage

When the delivery address (or the shipping estimator on the cart page) is in a country covered by an active rule and the goods ship from another country, the cart shows one line:

Import duties & fees (estimated) with a small breakdown (duty, handling fee, VAT).

  • DDP rules add the amount to the total. The line shows in the cart, at checkout, on the order page, in the order e-mail and on the invoice.
  • DAP rules show the line as “estimated, not included in the total”: the customer pays on delivery.

Every order keeps its lines and a snapshot of the customs data of each item (description, HS code, origin, quantity, value, weight). The order page shows a Customs data block.

Defaults shipped with the add-on. Check each source yourself: the add-on gives estimates, not customs advice.

Dates and amounts change. Edit the rules instead of waiting for an update: every number is a table value.

  1. Open the add-on settings and enter your Ship-from country; enter your IOSS / UK VAT / EORI numbers if you have them.
  2. Open Orders → Cross-border duties → Rules. Check that EUR and GBP exist in Administration → Currencies; the setup check at the top tells you.
  3. Press Add to documents.
  4. Add an HS code and origin to your products (below).

  • Many products: Bulk edit → Download all products (CSV), fill hs_code, origin_country (two letters), customs_description, ship_from_country, upload it again. Empty cells keep the stored value; a single - clears it.
  • A category: Bulk edit → Apply to a category sets the values on every product of the category and its subcategories (optionally only empty fields).

Audit lists active products without an HS code or origin (filter, search, CSV of the products to complete).

Export customs data for postal and carrier forms

Section titled “Export customs data for postal and carrier forms”

CN22 / CN23 export shows cross-border orders of a period, one row per item (sender and recipient country, Incoterm, description, HS code, origin, quantity, value, net weight in kg, IOSS and EORI numbers) and downloads them as CSV. The order page has a download link for that order.

Switch a US estimate to a collected amount

Section titled “Switch a US estimate to a collected amount”

On the Rules tab set the US rule’s mode to DDP, enter the duty % (or HS rates), save. The amount is then part of the order total.
