Is this the same as CS-Cart gift certificates?
Section titled “Is this the same as CS-Cart gift certificates?”No. Gift certificates are vouchers customers buy and redeem. This add-on wraps physical orders, adds a gift message and prints a gift receipt without prices. Both can be used in the same order.
Where is the wrap price in the order?
Section titled “Where is the wrap price in the order?”It is a separate Gift wrap line in the order total, like a payment surcharge. It is not added to the product prices, so product discounts do not change it, and it is not a hidden product in your catalog.
Are taxes calculated on the wrap?
Section titled “Are taxes calculated on the wrap?”Yes, with the taxes you select on the wrap. A tax that is included in the price is shown as included; other taxes are added on top. Tax-exempt customers pay no tax on the wrap.
Does a percentage payment surcharge include the wrap?
Section titled “Does a percentage payment surcharge include the wrap?”Yes. CS-Cart calculates the payment surcharge from the order total, which already contains the wrap.
Can customers add a message without a wrap?
Section titled “Can customers add a message without a wrap?”Yes. They switch on This order is a gift, keep No gift wrap and write the message. No fee is added.
How does “Send to someone else” work?
Section titled “How does “Send to someone else” work?”The recipient’s name and address go into the shipping address, and the customer’s own address into the billing address. These are the address fields CS-Cart checkout already has; the add-on only explains it and switches on the separate billing address.
Can I print a packing slip without prices?
Section titled “Can I print a packing slip without prices?”Yes: the gift receipt. Open the order and click Print gift receipt (admin panel and vendor panel). Customers can print it from their order page too (setting).
What happens on Multi-Vendor?
Section titled “What happens on Multi-Vendor?”Each vendor package gets its own wrap choice. When the order is split, each vendor sub-order carries its own wrap fee and taxes, and vendors print the gift receipt of their own orders.
I changed the price of a wrap. Do old orders change?
Section titled “I changed the price of a wrap. Do old orders change?”No. Every order keeps the wrap name and price it was placed with, also when you edit the order later.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?
Section titled “Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21?”Yes. The gift options are only on the checkout page, which is never cached. The product page note is the same for every visitor.
What happens without a valid license?
Section titled “What happens without a valid license?”Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), customers can no longer choose gift wrap or write a gift message at checkout, and no wrap fee is added. Orders already placed keep their gift details, gift receipts and totals. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Section titled “The admin panel shows a license notice.”Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Gift Wrap & Gift Messages: the License card at the top says what is wrong. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Section titled “Does the add-on work on my staging copy?”Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
