FAQ

The page itself only gets the drawer script and its settings, the same for every visitor. The cart content is loaded when the drawer opens, with a POST request that is never cached.

The script is small and sends no request until the drawer opens. Each change in the drawer is one request, plus the core refresh of the header cart.

My theme has its own cart icon. Can it open the drawer?

Section titled “My theme has its own cart icon. Can it open the drawer?”

Yes. Add its CSS selector in More elements that open the drawer, or link it to #kv-side-cart.

Shipping needs an address and a method, so it is calculated at checkout, as on most stores. The drawer says so under the totals.

Can customers change product options in the drawer?

Section titled “Can customers change product options in the drawer?”

No. The drawer shows the selected options. To change them, customers open the product or the cart page.

Do I need the Free Shipping Progress Bar or Frequently Bought Together add-ons?

Section titled “Do I need the Free Shipping Progress Bar or Frequently Bought Together add-ons?”

No. The drawer has its own free delivery goal. When those add-ons are installed and active, the drawer shows them too.

Themes with the docked cart already have a drawer, so the add-on does nothing there. Other themes work.

Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
