Installation

  • CS-Cart or CS-Cart Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x (tested on CS-Cart Ultimate 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1, Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 with PHP 8.1 and Multi-Vendor 4.21.2 with PHP 8.3).
  • PHP 7.2.5 – 8.3, as supported by your CS-Cart version.
  • MySQL/MariaDB with InnoDB.
  • Inventory tracking on (Settings → General → Inventory tracking) for stock-based statuses. Without it, every product counts as in stock.
  1. Go to Add-ons → Manage add-ons, click the + (upload) button and upload kv_stock_status_manager-1.0.0.zip.
  2. Find Stock Statuses & Lead Times in the list and click Install. The add-on is active after the installation.
  3. Enter your license key in Settings → License (or the CS-Cart Marketplace license number in Add-ons → Manage add-ons).
  4. Open Products → Stock statuses. Six sample statuses and one sample rule are ready (see below); edit or delete them as you like.
  5. Optional: add a Stock status filter in Products → Filters (see Usage).

No cron job is needed.

Item Details
Statuses In stock (default for products in stock), Only [qty] left, Ships in [days] days, Special order, Coming soon, Discontinued
Rule “Low stock”: stock 1 to 3 shows “Only [qty] left”
Default out of stock None: out-of-stock products keep the standard CS-Cart text until you choose a status or add a rule

The samples are created only when the add-on has no statuses yet; reinstalling over existing data never adds them twice.

Administrators need View catalog to see the pages and Manage catalog to change them, like the rest of the catalog. On Multi-Vendor, the Vendor access setting decides what vendors can do (see Configuration).

Upload the new package over the installed add-on (or use the Upgrade Center). Statuses, rules, product settings and order history are kept; missing tables, settings and texts are added automatically on the next admin page view.

  • Disable: the storefront shows the standard stock text again. “Stock status” product filters are switched off together with the add-on; switch them on again in Products → Filters after you enable the add-on.
  • Uninstall removes the add-on tables (statuses, rules, product settings, the order history of statuses), its settings, texts and the “Stock status” product filters. Products, stock and orders are not changed.
