FAQ
Do I need a special age database? No. Kite reads ages from the standard product feature “Age” (one variant per age range). You edit it on the product page or in the product import like any other feature. See Usage.
My age ranges are named differently. Kite reads the numbers and the words “months” / “years” in the variant names, so “Ages 3 to 5”, “18 months+” or “6-8 yrs” work. Ranges without a number are listed as features but get no chip.
The cards show no age chip or brand.
They come from product features: Age (KT_AGE) and Brand (KT_BRAND), or your own features with those names. Check
that Age chips and age bar is on in the settings.
Where do the safety badges come from?
From checkbox features: Safety tested, Non-toxic finishes, BPA free, Sustainable materials and Small parts warning
(codes KT_SAFE, KT_NONTOXIC, KT_BPA, KT_ECO, KT_SMALL_PARTS). Tick them per product.
My product photos have a white background. Do they work? Yes. Turn off Pastel toy-box wells behind product images in the Kite settings: photos are shown on a plain white card. Cut-out images (transparent background) look best with the pastel wells.
Can I change the gift finder budgets?
The labels are language variables (kv_theme_kite.budget_*); the amounts are the price ranges of the chips in the
block template. Prices are compared in your primary currency.
Does Kite work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. Theme output holds only catalogue data; the gift finder and the gift set totals run in the shopper’s browser, and cart and wish list counters come from the standard blocks.
What happens when the licence expires? The storefront shows the standard Responsive look; your store keeps selling. See Configuration.
