Does the add-on make my store compliant? No add-on can promise that. It helps you show the information the rules describe (GPSR Article 19, the harmonised legal guarantee notice and the GARAN label). Your products, texts and national law decide the rest; ask your adviser.
Why do I have to upload the notice myself? The harmonised notice must not be edited and exists in every EU language as an official file. Shipping a redrawn copy could be wrong or outdated, so you upload the Commission’s file for each language you sell in.
Which file format should I use? PNG, JPG or WebP, at least 600 px wide so the QR code stays scannable. SVG uploads are blocked by CS-Cart 4.18+.
Do I need a GARAN label for every product? No. Only when the producer offers a commercial guarantee of durability for the whole product, at no extra cost, for more than two years. Products without it show nothing.
Can I generate the GARAN label in the add-on? No. The label is the producer’s; upload the file the producer provides. Without an image the badge states the guarantee in words.
My country has a longer legal guarantee. Set “Legal guarantee period shown (years)” and adjust the texts in Languages > Translations.
Where is the manufacturer taken from? The product’s own choice, else the manufacturer linked to its brand, else the default manufacturer of the vendor or storefront, else the shared default.
Can vendors manage their data? Yes, on Multi-Vendor vendors manage their own manufacturers and the product safety data of their products.
Does it work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. The output is the same for every visitor and nothing is written at storefront runtime.
Does it work without EU Withdrawal Button & Returns Portal? Yes. With it, the “Legal guarantee” link joins its “Withdraw from contract here” strip; without it the add-on adds its own small footer line.
What happens when my license ends? The storefront output (card, tab, notice, GARAN) is hidden until you renew; your data and the admin pages stay.
Do I need a license for my staging site? No. Development and staging hosts are free, and subdomains of your licensed domain are included.
Can I move the card or the tab? The tab can be moved or renamed in Design > Product tabs. The card follows the “Add to cart” area of the product page.
Is the add-on available in other languages? The add-on ships English texts; every text is a language variable you can translate in Languages > Translations.
