FAQ

No. It needs it. The SEO add-on keeps building SEO URLs, canonical links, the robots rules for filters and checkout, hreflang links and the Product markup. SEO Pro Suite completes and controls that output and adds what is missing.

No. The add-on adds its properties to the Product item of the core SEO add-on. Only page types the core does not describe get new items (FAQPage, WebSite, BlogPosting, OnlineStore, and on versions before 4.21 BreadcrumbList and Organization).

CS-Cart 4.21 already has JSON-LD. What does the add-on add there?

Section titled “CS-Cart 4.21 already has JSON-LD. What does the add-on add there?”

4.21 prints Product, BreadcrumbList and an Organization item with the fields from Website → SEO → JSON-LD. The add-on adds the merchant-listing properties to products (condition, seller, return policy, shipping, price validity, GTIN fallback), the address and contact point to the Organization, and FAQPage, WebSite, BlogPosting and OnlineStore items. It does not print a second breadcrumb or organization block.

From the core: a product feature with the feature code GTIN, MPN or ISBN, and the product’s brand feature. If those are missing, the add-on can use a barcode-like product code as GTIN (valid check digit only), the product code as MPN, and the storefront or vendor name as brand. Website → SEO Pro Suite → Catalog coverage shows how many products still lack them.

Google shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative sites. The FAQ is still useful: it answers buyers’ questions on the page, it is read by AI assistants and AI search, and the markup is valid. The add-on shows FAQs to visitors exactly as in the markup, as Google requires.

Does noindex on sorted pages hurt my rankings?

Section titled “Does noindex on sorted pages hurt my rankings?”

No. Sorted listings show the same products as the unsorted page, which stays indexable with its canonical link. The add-on uses noindex, follow, so links on those pages are still followed.

A proposed standard (llmstxt.org): a Markdown file at /llms.txt that summarises a site for AI assistants. The add-on generates it from your catalog and keeps it current. On CS-Cart 4.21 plans that include the core llms.txt editor, text you enter there is served instead.

It is your choice. Block AI training, allow AI search keeps your store visible in ChatGPT search, Perplexity and similar tools (they link to you) while asking training crawlers to stay away. robots.txt is a request that reputable crawlers follow; it is not an access control.

The AI crawler block is not in my robots.txt.

Section titled “The AI crawler block is not in my robots.txt.”

Click Write to robots.txt on Website → SEO Pro Suite; the policy is not written automatically. If the page says robots.txt is not writable, make the file in the store root writable or copy the block into it.

Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?

Section titled “Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?”

Yes. Nothing the add-on prints depends on the visitor, it writes nothing while visitors browse, and cached pages are refreshed when FAQs or settings change.

Yes. Offers name the vendor as seller, vendor pages get OnlineStore markup, a canonical link and an optional noindex rule, and vendors can edit the FAQs of their own products.

The add-on’s tags disappeared and the admin panel shows a license notice.

Section titled “The add-on’s tags disappeared and the admin panel shows a license notice.”

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → SEO Pro Suite → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.

What happens to my settings and FAQs while the license is not valid?

Section titled “What happens to my settings and FAQs while the license is not valid?”

They are kept and you can still edit them. The storefront output of the add-on stops; the core SEO add-on keeps working, so your store keeps its SEO URLs, canonical links and basic structured data. Everything comes back as soon as the license is valid.

Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.

What happens if your license server is down?

Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”

Nothing visible: the add-on keeps the last verified result and keeps working for 14 days while it retries. The admin panel shows a notice from the first failed check.

Does the license check slow down my storefront?

Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront?”

No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront only reads the stored result.
