Know where every parcel is without opening carrier websites. When you save a shipment with a tracking number, the add-on registers it with your own 17TRACK or AfterShip account. The service reports each carrier scan back to your store by webhook (with a cron job as fallback). The add-on stores the events, moves the order to the status you chose (for example Complete when the parcel is delivered) and shows the customer a delivery timeline on the order page.
- Your own tracking account: 17TRACK (API v2.2) or AfterShip (Tracking API 2024-04). You pay the service for its plan, if any; the add-on adds no fee per parcel.
- Webhook and cron: signed webhooks are applied at once; the cron job registers new shipments, checks parcels that had no update for a set time and stops tracking old ones.
- Order status rules: one rule per parcel status (in transit, out for delivery, ready for pickup, failed attempt, problem reported, delivered). Rules only touch orders in the statuses you allow, and “Delivered” can wait until every parcel of the order arrived.
- Customer timeline: a Delivery status tab on the customer’s order page with a progress bar, the expected date and every carrier event, plus a status link above the order.
- Parcel dashboard: Orders > Parcel tracking lists every parcel with status, last event, expected date and order status, with filters, search, refresh, a parcel page and an activity log. The parcel status also appears on the admin order page.
- Multi-Vendor: vendors see and refresh the parcels of their own orders; settings and the log stay with the marketplace administrator.
What was tested
Section titled “What was tested”Every flow in this documentation was tested against local mock servers that answer like the 17TRACK and AfterShip APIs (registration, status queries, signed webhooks, error answers), on CS-Cart 4.17.2 and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2. It has not been tested with a live 17TRACK or AfterShip account yet. If the service answers differently on your account, contact support and we fix it within your support period.
