FAQ

Can customers change the quoted price in the cart?

Section titled “Can customers change the quoted price in the cart?”

No. The cart line only carries a reference to the quote. On every cart calculation the add-on reads the price, the product, the options and the quantity rules from the database and checks that the visitor owns the quote and that it is accepted and not expired. Changed or invented values are ignored, and lines that no longer match are removed from the cart.

No. Placing the order switches the quote from Accepted to Ordered in one database step; a second cart (another browser, another tab) is refused. To sell again at the same prices, send a new offer from a new request, or set the status back by hand.

Can a customer buy only one product of a multi-product offer?

Section titled “Can a customer buy only one product of a multi-product offer?”

No. A quote is ordered as a whole with the offered quantities (or more, if you added quantity breaks). Remove a product from the offer before you send it if the customer only wants part of it.

How do I make some products “price on request” for everyone?

Section titled “How do I make some products “price on request” for everyone?”

Set Hide prices from to Guest and Registered (and your own customer groups), and set the quote button to Quote only or Next to “Add to cart” for those products or categories. Products with Do not show keep their prices.

How do I show prices only to signed-in customers?

Section titled “How do I show prices only to signed-in customers?”

Tick Guest in Hide prices from. Guests see “Price on request” and a “Request a quote” button; registered customers see prices and can buy. This works with the full page cache because all guests share the same page.

Do quotes work with my shipping methods, taxes and payment methods?

Section titled “Do quotes work with my shipping methods, taxes and payment methods?”

Yes. Accepting an offer puts the products in the normal cart; shipping, taxes, coupons, cart promotions and payment are calculated by CS-Cart at checkout. Use the shipping note for agreements such as free delivery, or adjust the unit prices.

What happens on Multi-Vendor when the list has products from several vendors?

Section titled “What happens on Multi-Vendor when the list has products from several vendors?”

The request is split into one quote per vendor. Every vendor sees only its quote in the vendor panel and sends its own offer. The customer can accept each offer; the products go to one cart and the order is split per vendor as usual.

Yes, unless you turn off Guests can request quotes. Guests enter their e-mail address and get a signed link to their quote. Only the browser that opened the link (or the one that sent the request) can buy at the quoted prices.

In var/custom_files/kv_b2b_quote_request, which is not reachable from the web. Files are only sent after an access check, and their type and content are checked on upload.

The quote page has a Print / PDF link that opens a clean printable page; use the browser’s “Save as PDF”. No PDF service is needed.

Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?

Section titled “Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?”

Yes. The button and hidden prices depend only on user groups, the per-visitor parts (quote list counter, account menu) are rendered per visitor, and the quote pages are never cached.

Does it work with the Catalog mode or Call requests add-ons?

Section titled “Does it work with the Catalog mode or Call requests add-ons?”

Yes. With Catalog mode, the quote button appears next to Catalog mode’s “Buy now” link, and quote-only products show the quote button instead. The “Buy now with one click” button of Call requests appears next to the quote button.

Customers no longer see the “Request a quote” button and the admin panel shows a license notice.

Section titled “Customers no longer see the “Request a quote” button and the admin panel shows a license notice.”

Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → B2B Request a Quote (RFQ) → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.

What happens to existing quotes while the license is not valid?

Section titled “What happens to existing quotes while the license is not valid?”

They are kept. You can still open, edit and answer them in the admin panel, and customers can still read them in their account. Customers cannot send new requests, messages or change requests. Accepted quotes that have not expired can still be added to the cart and checked out at the quoted price, so offers your customers already accepted are honoured.

Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.

What happens if your license server is down?

Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”

Nothing visible: the add-on keeps the last verified result and keeps working for 14 days while it retries. The admin panel shows a notice from the first failed check.

Does the license check slow down my storefront?

Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront?”

No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront only reads the stored result.
