Usage
For vendors
Section titled “For vendors”- Sign in to the vendor panel.
- Open Vacation mode:
- with the Vendor panel configurator add-on (default in 4.17/4.18): Seller tools → Vacation mode;
- without it: Vendors → Vacation mode;
- or from your profile page (Seller info): the tools menu (gear) → Vacation mode.
- Tick Vacation mode is on.
- Optionally choose a Start date. Leave it empty to start right away.
- Optionally choose an End date: the last day of your vacation. Customers see it as your return date. Without an end date, vacation mode stays on until you turn it off.
- Optionally write a Message to customers (plain text, up to 1000 characters). If the marketplace has several languages, switch the content language at the top of the page to translate it. The first message you save is copied to all languages.
- Click Save.
The Current status block shows what happens now:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| On vacation | Vacation mode is on and today is within the dates. Customers see it. |
| Scheduled | Vacation mode is on, but the start date is in the future. Nothing changes for customers yet. |
| Ended | Vacation mode is on, but the end date has passed. Customers no longer see it. |
| Off | Vacation mode is off. |
The What customers see while you are on vacation block explains the marketplace settings that apply to your products.
To come back early, click End vacation now in the tools menu, or untick Vacation mode is on and save.
If the administrator has locked your settings, the page is read-only and shows a notice.
For administrators
Section titled “For administrators”See who is on vacation
Section titled “See who is on vacation”Vendors → Vacation mode lists every vendor with a vacation record:
- Status (On vacation / Scheduled / Ended / Off), start and end dates, message and last update;
- sorting by vendor, dates and update time;
- search by vendor name and filter by status in the sidebar;
- per-row tools: Edit, End vacation now, Delete;
- bulk actions (gear menu): End vacation for selected, Delete selected.
The text above the list shows how many vendors are on vacation right now.
The list and the vacation page show the license status at the top: a small License: Valid chip, or a banner with the status and the actions when the add-on is switched off (see License). Vendors do not see it.
Set up or change a vendor’s vacation
Section titled “Set up or change a vendor’s vacation”Use any of these:
- Vendors → Vacation mode → Set up vacation for a vendor (sidebar): pick the vendor and click Open;
- Vendors → Vendors → the vendor’s row tools → Vacation mode;
- the vendor’s profile page → tools menu → Vacation mode.
The form is the same as the vendor’s, with one extra option: Lock for the vendor. A locked vacation can only be changed by administrators. Use it to put a vendor on a forced break (for example, during an investigation) or to stop a vendor from ending a vacation you scheduled.
Delete removes the record and the messages completely. End vacation now keeps the dates and message, so the vendor can turn it back on later.
Email notification
Section titled “Email notification”With Email the administrator when a vendor turns vacation mode on enabled, the Site administrator address gets an email whenever a vendor turns vacation mode on (including a scheduled vacation). Edit the text in Design → Email templates.
What customers see
Section titled “What customers see”With the default settings (Disable add to cart, Block checkout, all banners on):
- Vendor store page and vendor information page: a banner, for example “Acme Outdoor is on vacation until May 20, 2026”, followed by the vendor’s message and “Purchases from this vendor are paused until May 20, 2026.”
- Product page: the same banner under the product title. The Add to cart button is replaced with “Vendor is on vacation until May 20, 2026”.
- Category and search lists, product blocks: products stay listed. Their Add to cart buttons are replaced the same way.
- Cart: each affected item shows a short note. An error explains that the products must be removed before ordering. Checkout redirects back to the cart until they are removed.
With Keep selling, the banner says orders will ship after the return date, the button stays, and the cart shows “Ships after date”.
With Hide, the vendor’s products disappear from lists. Direct product links still open and show the banner.
Automatic start and end
Section titled “Automatic start and end”Vacation state is calculated on every request from the dates, using the store’s time zone. The start date begins at 00:00 and the end date lasts until 23:59:59. There is no cron job. When a date is crossed, the add-on updates its own table once, so CS-Cart refreshes cached product and vendor blocks automatically.
