Usage

  1. Scalapay at checkout, with Scalapay’s widget showing the instalments.
  2. After placing the order, Scalapay’s checkout page: the customer picks the plan and confirms.
  3. Back in the shop: the order page. If Scalapay has not confirmed yet, the order page says so; the cart is empty either way, so the order cannot be paid twice. If the customer leaves Scalapay without paying, the checkout opens again with the cart (“nothing has been charged”).

Every Scalapay attempt of the order: the Scalapay order token, the merchant reference, the status, the amounts (authorized, captured, refunded, voided), the capture deadline of a delayed capture and every operation with its result.

Action When
Capture Delayed capture: captures the authorization (the full amount or, for a normal order, a lower amount; Scalapay takes one capture per order). The order moves to the captured status.
Void the authorization Delayed capture: cancels the customer’s plan, nothing is charged. The order moves to the “not paid” status.
Refund Captured money: an amount (empty = all that is left) and a reason. Partial refunds can be repeated.
Read back Reads the order from Scalapay now and settles anything without a clear answer.

The authorization is held for the window you set (at most 5 days). Capture it by changing the order to the capture status or on the tab. The add-on warns in the log and on its pages 24 hours before the end. When Scalapay voids an expired authorization (or you void it), the order moves to your “not paid” status from any status except Cancelled / Declined, also if you had already set it to Processed, and its payment information says so; never ship it. A capture at the capture status that finds nothing to capture shows an error to the admin.

A capture below the authorized amount (a lower amount on the tab, or a marketplace order with a cancelled vendor order) captures once; the rest of the authorization is not used and Scalapay releases it when it expires (several captures are not documented by Scalapay).

Scalapay tab status Meaning
Waiting for the customer Scalapay order created, the customer has not authorized yet. Never “cancelled”.
Authorized, capture running Authorized; the shop’s capture or delay is being confirmed.
Authorized (delayed capture) Held until you capture or void.
Captured / Partly refunded / Refunded Money taken / partly / fully refunded.
Voided / Expired / Capture refused / Not created Ended without money.
Not booked An authorization that does not match the order (amount, duplicate, order cancelled); voided automatically.
  • Owner mode: a cart with several vendors is one Scalapay order on the parent order. Every vendor order shows it on its own tab. Standard flow: captured once; each vendor order refunds its own share. Delayed capture: captured once when every vendor order is at the capture status or cancelled (cancelled vendor orders are not captured). Vendors can see the payment of their orders but never capture, void or refund from the tab. A vendor who moves their order to the capture status takes part in the capture at shipment like the owner; a vendor’s cancel never voids and a vendor’s refund status never refunds (the marketplace owner decides).
  • Vendor mode (owner mode off): each vendor connects their own Scalapay account in the vendor panel and manages the payments of their own orders.

Orders > Scalapay > Log lists every call and decision (filters, CSV). Jobs shows the queue (refunds at order status, deferred captures after a webhook, read-backs); Run now runs it at once.
