Bookings & Reservations turns any product into something customers book for a date: an appointment, a class, a tour, a rental or a stay. Instead of a quantity box, the product page shows a calendar with live availability. Customers choose a day and a time (or a check-in and check-out date), the number of guests or places, see the price at once and book through your normal cart and checkout. Every booking belongs to an order line, follows the order status and appears in your bookings calendar.
CS-Cart has no booking engine: stores sell “tickets” with stock counts and sort the dates out by e-mail. This add-on keeps the dates, the capacity and the payment in one place, and it never sells the same place twice.
- Two booking types: time slots (duration, break between bookings, places per slot) and date ranges (per night or per day, minimum and maximum length, allowed check-in and check-out weekdays).
- Opening hours and exceptions: weekly hours per weekday, closed days, special hours and different capacity for single dates, a lead time (“book at least 2 hours ahead”) and a booking horizon.
- Resources: staff, rooms, vehicles or equipment shared by several products; a resource is never booked twice at the same time, even across products with different durations. Customers pick a resource or get the first free one.
- Pricing: the product price per slot, night or day; price per person with adults and children (child share in percent) or several places per booking; price rules by date range and weekday (percent, amount or fixed price).
- No double booking: the places are held while the customer checks out (15 minutes by default) and the capacity is checked again, atomically, when the order is placed. Two customers who try to take the last place at the same moment cannot both get it.
- Follows the order: cancelled, declined and failed orders free the places; reopening the order takes them again. Unpaid online payments keep the places for a limited time.
- Bookings calendar: month and week views with filters, a searchable list, CSV export, a booking page to move or cancel a booking, manual bookings for phone and walk-in customers and blocked times.
- For customers: a My bookings page, Add to calendar (.ics) links and attachments, reminder e-mails before the start and online cancellation within your cancellation window (request or automatic).
- Multi-Vendor: vendors set up booking for their own products and manage their own bookings and resources in the vendor panel.
- Full page cache ready (4.21): the product page is the same for every visitor; availability and prices load separately.
