How is this different from the bulk edit of CS-Cart?
Section titled “How is this different from the bulk edit of CS-Cart?”CS-Cart’s bulk edit changes a few fields of the products you select on one page of the products list. This editor shows any columns you choose for the whole catalog with paging and filters, edits cells inline, pastes from spreadsheets, runs mass actions with a preview on thousands of products, includes find and replace, features and SEO fields, and keeps a change log with undo.
Does it work with 10,000 or more products?
Section titled “Does it work with 10,000 or more products?”Yes. The grid loads one page at a time, and mass actions and undo run in short steps with a progress bar, so no request runs into a PHP time limit. 10,000 price changes took about 80 seconds on our test server.
Are other add-ons and caches updated?
Section titled “Are other add-ons and caches updated?”Yes. Every change goes through the same product update as the product page, so SEO redirects, variations, caches (including the 4.21 full page cache) and the hooks of other add-ons run as usual.
What happens if two people edit the same product?
Section titled “What happens if two people edit the same product?”The grid remembers the value it loaded. If someone changed the value in the meantime, your change is not saved; the cell shows the current value and a message, and you can enter your change again. Undo works the same way: it never overwrites a value that changed after the entry.
Can I undo a mass action?
Section titled “Can I undo a mass action?”Yes, from the Change log tab, for as long as the entry is kept (90 days by default). Undo restores the old values of every product in the entry, skipping values that were changed again since.
Which product features can I edit?
Section titled “Which product features can I edit?”Text, number, single checkbox, text select, number select and brand features. Multiple-checkbox and date features are not supported in this version. A feature limited to certain categories can only be set for products in those categories.
Can I edit product options, images or descriptions?
Section titled “Can I edit product options, images or descriptions?”Options and images are not part of the editor. Short and full descriptions can be changed with find and replace and add text at the start/end in mass actions; edit them in full on the product page.
Can vendors use it?
Section titled “Can vendors use it?”Yes, on Multi-Vendor, when Vendors can use the bulk editor is on. Vendors see and change only their own products, and the marketplace’s rules (for example premoderation) apply.
Which language do I edit?
Section titled “Which language do I edit?”The content language chosen with the language selector of the page. Other languages are not touched.
Why was a value “not accepted”?
Section titled “Why was a value “not accepted”?”Either the value was invalid (the message says why), or a rule of CS-Cart or another add-on kept the old value, for example a field of a product shared from another storefront, a vendor product that follows a master product, or a category that does not belong to the product’s storefront.
What happens if the license lapses?
Section titled “What happens if the license lapses?”Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), inline saving and new mass actions are switched off. The grid, filters, saved views and the change log keep working, earlier changes can still be undone, and an action that was already running can be finished. Your products are never affected. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Section titled “The admin panel shows a license notice.”Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Spreadsheet Bulk Product Editor: the License card at the top says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it on the License tab and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Section titled “Does the add-on work on my staging copy?”Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out. The editor itself has no storefront part at all.
