FAQ
How is this different from user groups and reward points in CS-Cart?
Section titled “How is this different from user groups and reward points in CS-Cart?”CS-Cart has user groups (with prices, promotions and visibility) and reward points, but customers must be put into user groups by hand. This add-on does that automatically from spend and orders, moves customers up and down with a grace period, adds tier rewards on top (points multiplier, cashback, birthday rewards) and shows customers their tier and progress.
Which orders count?
Section titled “Which orders count?”Orders in the qualifying statuses (default Processed and Complete) placed within the window (default the last 12 months). An order that is cancelled, declined or refunded later leaves those statuses and stops counting. Multi-Vendor parent orders never count; their vendor orders do, and a checkout split between vendors counts as one order.
Can a tier use an existing user group?
Section titled “Can a tier use an existing user group?”Yes. When you add a tier, choose an existing customer user group instead of letting the add-on create a hidden one. Its prices and promotions then apply to the tier members.
Do customers see the tier user groups on their profile page?
Section titled “Do customers see the tier user groups on their profile page?”No. Groups created by the add-on are hidden, so customers cannot request them on the profile page.
How do I give a tier free shipping or a discount?
Section titled “How do I give a tier free shipping or a discount?”Add a promotion in Marketing → Promotions with the condition User group = the tier and the bonus you want. It is listed automatically as a perk of the tier. See Usage.
What if a customer stops qualifying?
Section titled “What if a customer stops qualifying?”The customer keeps the tier for the grace period (30 days by default) and gets an e-mail with what is missing. If the goals are not reached again by then, the customer moves to the tier the stats qualify for. You can set the grace period to 0 or switch downgrades off.
Can I put a customer into a tier by hand?
Section titled “Can I put a customer into a tier by hand?”Yes, with a manual tier on the member page, with an optional end date, or for many customers at once with the CSV import.
Do I need the Reward points or the Store Credit Wallet add-on?
Section titled “Do I need the Reward points or the Store Credit Wallet add-on?”No. Without them, tiers still work with user group prices, promotions and visibility, birthday coupon codes and early access. The points multiplier and birthday points need Reward points; tier cashback and birthday store credit need the Store Credit Wallet add-on.
Where do customers enter their birthday?
Section titled “Where do customers enter their birthday?”In the Birthday field of their profile, which the add-on adds while the core Age verification add-on is off (that add-on has its own birthday field, which is used then). You can also set it on the customer’s page in the admin panel.
Is the tier shown on cached pages?
Section titled “Is the tier shown on cached pages?”No. The badge and the My tier page are shown only to signed-in customers, who never get cached pages, also with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21.
What happens when I disable or uninstall the add-on?
Section titled “What happens when I disable or uninstall the add-on?”Customers keep their tier user groups, so prices and promotions keep working; tiers just stop changing. Uninstalling deletes the tier definitions, members and history, but not the user groups.
How does it work with several storefronts?
Section titled “How does it work with several storefronts?”User groups are global in CS-Cart, so tiers are the same on every storefront, and a customer’s orders in all storefronts count.
What happens if the license lapses?
Section titled “What happens if the license lapses?”Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), tiers are no longer re-evaluated, no tier rewards are given and the My tier page and badges are hidden. Customers keep their current tier user groups, so prices and promotions tied to them keep working. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Section titled “The admin panel shows a license notice.”Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Loyalty Program with VIP Tiers → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Section titled “Does the add-on work on my staging copy?”Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.yourstore.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license.
What happens if your license server is down?
Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”No. The check runs in the admin panel or from cron, once a day. The storefront never runs it.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
