FAQ

Do I need special product fields for authors, series and formats? No. Folio reads authors, publishers, series, formats, genres, reading ages, ISBNs and pack sizes from standard product features, formats and pack sizes for sale from normal product options, and bulk prices from quantity discounts. You edit them on the product page or in the product import. See Usage.

The search does not find an author. Check that Search by author, ISBN and SKU is on and that the author is a variant of the Author feature (code FO_AUTHOR or a feature named Author). Authors typed into the description are found by the standard search anyway.

Can shoppers search by ISBN without hyphens? Yes. Digits are matched with or without hyphens and spaces in the product code and in the ISBN feature.

The Look inside bookmark is missing. The product needs an Author or ISBN value and at least two images (the cover plus inside pages), and the setting Look inside must be on.

My product images are square photos. Do they work? Yes. Images stand on the shelf at the bottom of a portrait well and are never cropped. Portrait covers (3:4 or 2:3) on a transparent or matching background look best.

How do I make a staff pick? Fill the text feature Staff pick with the note and the signature after a dash. See Usage.

Where do the bulk prices come from? From the standard quantity discounts of the product (all customer groups or the ones you choose).

Does Folio work with the full page cache of CS-Cart 4.21? Yes. Theme output holds only catalogue data; Look inside, the scope placeholders and the SKU copy button run in the shopper’s browser, and basket and wish list counters come from the standard blocks.

What happens when the licence expires? The storefront shows the standard Responsive look; your store keeps selling. See Configuration.
