Usage
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Orders > SMS notifications shows the last 30 days: messages, delivery rate, SMS parts billed, the share sent as Unicode, the cost Twilio reported, messages per day, the languages your customers received, setup checks (Twilio, cron job, calling code, failures, texts with unknown placeholders, store languages without ready texts) and the latest messages.
Message studio
Section titled “Message studio”Messages & languages is one editor for every message:
- Pick the event on the left (new order, order status, shipment, new account, low stock, order page message).
- Pick the recipient (customer, store team, vendor) and, for order status, a status or “Any status”.
- Pick the language. Store languages come first; the other ready languages are below, with a search field.
- The editor shows your text, or the ready text with a “Ready text” badge. Click a placeholder to insert it.
- The counter shows GSM-7 or Unicode, characters, SMS parts and what is left in the part. When Unicode is caused by a few letters (for example Turkish ş, Polish ł, curly quotes), the hint lists them and Make it GSM-7 rewrites them in plain Latin letters. For Cyrillic and Greek it writes the text in Latin letters. Arabic, Chinese and other scripts always need Unicode, and the hint says so.
- The phone preview shows the message with sample data, right to left for Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Urdu.
- Save text stores your text for that language. Use ready text again removes your text. Send test sends the previewed text to a number at once.
When to send switches each message on or off: for order status a row per status, with a column per recipient. By default customers get a message for Processed, Complete and Canceled. Changes are saved at once.
On CS-Cart Ultimate, select a storefront in the admin panel to write texts and switches for that storefront; “All storefronts” is the store-wide default.
Which language a customer gets
Section titled “Which language a customer gets”- The language the order was placed in.
- The language of the customer account.
- The default language of the storefront.
- The fallback language from the settings.
For that language the add-on uses your own text (storefront or vendor text first), then the ready text, then the same for the fallback language.

Section titled “Placeholders”| Placeholder | Value |

A line whose placeholders are all empty is left out, so “Tracking: [tracking_number]” disappears when there is no number.
Log lists every message with state (queued, sending, sent, delivered, failed, cancelled), event, language, encoding, parts and cost, with filters. A message page shows the full text, the reason of a failure in plain words, the Unicode characters, and the history (queued, sent, receipts, retries). Failed messages can be sent again; queued ones can be cancelled.
Order page
Section titled “Order page”Each order has an SMS tab with the messages of that order and a box to text the customer. The box starts with your order page text in the customer’s language; placeholders are filled from the order.
Multi-Vendor
Section titled “Multi-Vendor”- Vendors open Orders > SMS notifications to write customer texts for their own orders in any language and to see the log of their orders.
- The marketplace owner’s switches and Twilio account are used for all vendors.
- With Text vendors on, the vendor gets the new order and low stock messages at the company phone, in the company language.
