Usage
Everything Petal shows comes from standard CS-Cart data: product features, product options, product filters, categories, banners, promotions, blog posts and reviews, plus three theme settings. There are no extra tables to fill.
Delivery dates
Section titled “Delivery dates”Create the product feature Earliest delivery (code PE_LEAD, type Select box) with variants such as Same day,
Next day and In 2 days and set it on your products. Petal reads the variant name: “Same day” or “Today” = 0
days, “Next day” or “Tomorrow” = 1 day, any other name with a number = that many days (“In 3 days”, “2-3 days” = 2).
A feature named Earliest delivery, Delivery or Lead time works too.
- Delivery stamps on product images show the variant name (“Same day” in the bloom colour).
- Arrival lines under the price: without a chosen date “Arrives today” or “Can arrive Sat, Oct 25” (the earliest day); after the shopper picked a date in the When do you need it? bar, “Can arrive Sat, Oct 25” when the product makes it, “Earliest Mon, Oct 27” when it does not (and the card fades a little).
- Only show what arrives in time: on category and search pages, a line under the breadcrumbs shows how many products on the page can arrive on the chosen date and a switch that hides the others.
- The calculation uses the cut-off time, your delivery days and the store time zone: an order placed after the cut-off starts counting from the next delivery day.
The chosen date is a preference stored in the shopper’s browser only. It never changes prices, stock or what the checkout offers, and products without an Earliest delivery value never get a label. Let shoppers confirm the day at checkout: with the Kavio Delivery Date & Time Slots add-on Petal pre-selects the chosen day in its day picker when that day is offered; otherwise ask for the day in the order comments or use your own shipping method notes.
Same-day cut-off
Section titled “Same-day cut-off”Set Same-day cut-off and Delivery days in the add-on settings (Configuration). The top bar shows “Same-day delivery: order within 02:14:36” until the cut-off and “Order now for delivery tomorrow” (or the next delivery day) after it; product pages with a same-day product show “Order within 2h 14m for delivery today”. The Today button of the date bar is greyed out after the cut-off and on closed days.
With the Kavio Delivery Date & Time Slots add-on active, the countdown uses that add-on’s cut-off when it has a same-day window today, and its delivery estimate replaces the arrival line inside the Petal delivery panel on product pages.
Occasions
Section titled “Occasions”The Shop by occasion gift tags are a categories block: in the demo, the subcategories of Occasions (Birthday, Anniversary, Love & romance, Thank you, New baby, Get well) and Sympathy. Link products into occasion categories as secondary categories, and give each occasion category an image (a portrait product picture on a transparent background looks best on the coloured tag).
The feature Occasion (code PE_OCCASION, Multiple checkboxes) prints the first occasion above the product name on
cards and every occasion above the title on the product page; add a product filter on it for the sidebar.
Sizes, vases and pots
Section titled “Sizes, vases and pots”Use normal product options (Select box) named Size, Vase or Pot, with price modifiers (in the demo: Classic +0, Deluxe +$20, Grand +$40; No vase, Glass vase +$15, Stoneware jug +$24). Petal shows them as buttons with the price difference, prints the variants of the Size option on cards (“Classic · Deluxe · Grand”) and puts “from” before the card price when an option adds to the price.
Gift card message
Section titled “Gift card message”Product pages show a lined card with a hand-written sample message (texts in Settings → Languages, search for
kv_theme_petal.card_) and how to add the message:
- with the Kavio Gift Wrap & Messages add-on: “switch on This order is a gift at checkout” (its panel collects the message, the names and the gift wrap);
- without it: “write your message in the order comments at checkout”.
Add a little extra
Section titled “Add a little extra”The block Add a little extra (products block, template “Add a little extra” row) on the product page lists up to four small products with their own add buttons; Petal moves it into the details column under the gift card. Choose the products in Website → Themes → Layouts → Products (in the demo: a card, truffles, a balloon and a vase). The homepage Make it a gift band uses the first three products of its block the same way.

Homepage
Section titled “Homepage”The homepage sections are blocks of the Petal layout (Website → Themes → Layouts → Homepage): the hero slider and the promo banners (Banners; the heading is the banner name, the eyebrow, text, buttons, stamp and paired product come from the banner’s extra fields), the occasion tags, the product tabs, the gift band, the promise strip, reviews, the journal and, on Multi-Vendor, the florist cards. Turn a section off or move it like any block.
