FAQ
Does checkout get slower?
Section titled “Does checkout get slower?”No. While an order is saved the add-on only inserts a few rows into its own queue table. Telegram, Meta and Twilio are called after the customer’s page has been answered (or by cron), with short timeouts. If a provider is down, the order is not affected; the message is retried later.
Why does the customer not get a WhatsApp message?
Section titled “Why does the customer not get a WhatsApp message?”Check the delivery log. Common reasons: the customer did not tick the opt-in checkbox (with “Only customers who opted in”), the order has no usable phone number (set Default country calling code for national numbers), the template name or language does not match the approved template (#132001), the number of body parameters differs from the template (#132000), or you are testing with Meta’s test number and the recipient is not in its list (#131030).
Can I send WhatsApp messages without templates?
Section titled “Can I send WhatsApp messages without templates?”Only to people who wrote to your WhatsApp number in the last 24 hours. Messages that start a conversation (order confirmations, status updates) must use approved templates; that is a WhatsApp rule, not a limit of the add-on. For your staff, Telegram is free and needs no templates.
How do I find a Telegram chat ID?
Section titled “How do I find a Telegram chat ID?”Open your bot in Telegram and press Start (or add the bot to a group and send a message there), then click Find chats on the Telegram tab of the settings. Vendors use Open the bot and Check connection in their panel.
Can customers receive Telegram messages?
Section titled “Can customers receive Telegram messages?”Not in this version: Telegram bots can only write to people who started the bot, which needs a separate step per shopper. Customers get WhatsApp or SMS.
Which SMS gateways are supported?
Section titled “Which SMS gateways are supported?”Twilio directly, and any gateway with an HTTP API through the Other gateway (HTTP API) settings (URL, method, body with placeholders, headers, success text). That covers most local SMS providers.
Will my staff get two SMS for a new order?
Section titled “Will my staff get two SMS for a new order?”Only if the core SMS notifications add-on also sends new-order texts. The settings show a hint in that case; turn off one of them.
How are customers asked for consent?
Section titled “How are customers asked for consent?”With a checkbox next to the terms at checkout and in the profile, and with an opt-out link you can add to SMS texts. Every choice is stored per phone number with the time and IP address, and an opt-out always wins. See Customer consent.
Do vendors see other vendors’ orders?
Section titled “Do vendors see other vendors’ orders?”No. A vendor only receives messages about its own orders and products, and its panel page only shows its own settings and messages.
Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?
Section titled “Does it work with the CS-Cart 4.21 full page cache?”Yes. The add-on adds nothing to cached pages; the checkbox is only on the checkout and the profile page, which are never cached.
What happens to messages when a provider is down?
Section titled “What happens to messages when a provider is down?”They are retried after 1, 5, 15, 60 and 180 minutes (up to 6 attempts). Messages that could not be sent within 48 hours expire instead of arriving days late. You can re-queue any failed message with Send again.
What does uninstalling remove?
Section titled “What does uninstalling remove?”The rules, the delivery log, the customer opt-ins, the vendor settings, the settings and credentials, the privileges and the language variables. Orders are not touched.
What happens if the license lapses?
Section titled “What happens if the license lapses?”Without a valid license (no key after the 14-day start period, an invalid or revoked key, a domain the license does not cover, or no successful check for 14 days), no Telegram, WhatsApp or SMS messages are sent and the opt-in checkbox is hidden. Orders, checkout and the store e-mails keep working, and rules, the log and opt-ins are kept. Once the license is valid again, everything is back.
The admin panel shows a license notice.
Section titled “The admin panel shows a license notice.”Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Telegram & WhatsApp Order Notifications → Settings → License. The status line says what is wrong: no key, a key for another add-on, a revoked license, or a domain that the license does not cover. Fix it and click Check now. See License.
Does the add-on work on my staging copy?
Section titled “Does the add-on work on my staging copy?”Yes. Subdomains of your licensed domain (for example staging.example.com) and local development hosts (localhost, private IP addresses, *.local, *.test) are covered by the same license. Remember that a staging copy with real credentials sends real messages: clear the credentials or turn off Send notifications there.
What happens if your license server is down?
Section titled “What happens if your license server is down?”Nothing changes for 14 days: the add-on keeps working and retries every hour. Only if no check succeeds for 14 days is it switched off until the next successful check.
Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?
Section titled “Does the license check slow down my storefront or checkout?”No. The check runs only in the admin panel or from cron, at most once a day, never while customers browse or check out.
Still stuck?
Section titled “Still stuck?”Work through the troubleshooting guide, then contact support with your CS-Cart version, edition, PHP version and the add-on version (1.0.0).
