Installation

Requirements

• CS-Cart, CS-Cart Ultimate, Multi-Vendor or Multi-Vendor Ultimate 4.17.2 – 4.21.x.
• Administrator access to the admin panel.

Install

1. Download kv_theme_gloss-<version>.zip from your Kavio Labs or CS-Cart Marketplace account.
2. Open Add-ons → Manage add-ons, click the gear button, choose Manual installation and upload the archive. The add-on Gloss theme installs the Gloss theme files. It does not change your storefront.
3. Enter your licence key: Add-ons → Manage add-ons → Gloss theme → Settings → License (see Configuration).
4. Open Website → Themes, find Gloss and click Activate. CS-Cart asks whether to apply the theme’s recommended settings (square thumbnails without a background colour, so cut-out product images stand on the tinted counter plates); accept them for the intended look.
5. Open any admin page once: Gloss adds its demo content (Makeup, Skincare, Fragrance, Hair, Bath & body, Men, Gifts & sets and Minis with 17 subcategories, 44 products from seven fictional brands with shades and sizes, four brand promotions with real end dates, reviews, journal posts, a main menu and, on Multi-Vendor, three brand shops) and points the homepage blocks at it. A notice confirms it. Turn the setting Install the demo content when the theme is activated off before step 4 to start with an empty design.
6. Choose a style: Nude, Cherry, Peach or Noir.

The theme brings its own layout (top band, header, menu bar, homepage sections, category and product page blocks, footer). Layouts of your other themes stay untouched; switching back to your previous theme brings them back.

Upgrade

Upload the new package the same way (Manual installation over the installed add-on), or install the upgrade package in Administration → Upgrade center. Then open any admin page once: the add-on updates the installed theme files. Files you changed yourself (for example a style edited in the Theme editor) are kept, and a notice lists them. Your layouts and blocks are never replaced, and the demo content is never added twice.

Uninstall

1. Switch every storefront to another theme in Website → Themes.
2. Uninstall Gloss theme in Add-ons → Manage add-ons. The Gloss theme files and its layouts are removed. The demo products, categories and posts stay (they are normal items); delete the ones you do not need.

If a storefront still uses Gloss when you uninstall the add-on, the theme files are kept and that storefront shows the standard Responsive look until you install the add-on again or switch the theme.
