Search Console Insights

Edition: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor · Latest version: 1.0.0 · Compatible with: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x, PHP 7.4 – 8.3 · Changelog: view

Google Search Console figures for every product and category, inside the CS-Cart admin: clicks, impressions, click-through rate (CTR) and average position, the search queries behind them and a list of quick wins, the pages Google already shows on page 1 or 2 that few people click.

  • Website > Search Console: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position of the last 28 or 90 days, the change against the period before and a daily chart.
  • Quick wins: products and categories at average position 4 to 15 with enough impressions and a low CTR. A better SEO title and meta description usually lifts their clicks. The thresholds are settings.
  • Views: quick wins, products, categories, no clicks, pages (home page and content pages) and other URLs (filters, search results, removed products). Sort by any column, filter by name or URL.
  • Search Console tab on every product and category page: the figures of all its URLs added up, its top 10 queries, a quick-win or no-clicks badge and a tip.
  • Edit SEO button on each row opens the SEO tab of the product or category.
  • URLs are matched to products, categories and pages by their SEO name or by the id in the URL; several URLs of one product (languages, tracking parameters, pagination) are added up.
  • Your own Google account: a service account of your Google Cloud project reads your property with a read-only scope. No third-party service, no OAuth app review.
  • Daily sync by cron (console or HTTP with the cron password) and a Sync now button.
  • Multi-Vendor: optional tab for vendors on their own products. CS-Cart Ultimate: one property per storefront.

The Search Console API is free. Google Cloud does not need a billing account for it.

CS-Cart and CS-Cart Ultimate (one connection per storefront) and Multi-Vendor (one connection for the marketplace). Version 4.17.2 to 4.21.x, PHP 7.4 to 8.3.

Tested on CS-Cart 4.17.2 and Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 against a local mock of the Google OAuth token endpoint and the Search Console API (the mock checks the RS256 signature of the service account). Multi-Vendor 4.21.2: template compile with Smarty 5 and PHP 8.3 syntax.
