Photo & Video Reviews with Q&A changelog

All notable changes to Photo & Video Reviews with Q&A (kv_photo_video_reviews) are documented here. The format follows Keep a Changelog and the project uses Semantic Versioning.

  • Customer videos in core product reviews:
    • MP4, MOV and WebM uploads (including fragmented MP4 recorded in browsers) and YouTube or Vimeo links;
    • size, length and count limits checked in the browser and on the server;
    • container check by content and removal of location metadata;
    • posters captured in the browser.
  • Click-to-play players: posters are stored locally, YouTube uses privacy-enhanced mode, Vimeo uses “do not track”, and an optional privacy note tells shoppers which service plays the video.
  • Photos & videos product tab with all approved customer photos and videos and a full-screen viewer that shows the review.
  • Review filters under the core sorting: star ratings, with photos or videos, with videos, verified buyers.
  • Questions & answers product tab:
    • answers by the store, the vendor (Multi-Vendor) and customers, with badges;
    • helpful votes, search and pagination;
    • forms loaded by AJAX, protected against CSRF and spam (honeypot, rate limit, optional CAPTCHA).
  • Moderation of questions, answers and videos (admin panel and Multi-Vendor vendor panel), with e-mail notifications for new questions and published answers.
  • Review rewards: unique, single-use coupons from core promotions with auto-generated codes for approved reviews, with conditions (rating, media, verified buyers, length, limits per customer), expiry and withdrawal.
  • Removal of EXIF, XMP and IPTC data (GPS position, camera) from review photos; rotated phone photos are turned upright.
  • Signed review links for e-mails (fn_kv_photo_video_reviews_get_review_url()): guests review as verified buyers.
  • Cooperation with Review Request E-mails: video fields on its review page, and its rewards take precedence, so no review earns two coupons.
  • Photos and videos added to the core review structured data, without a second JSON-LD block.
  • Full page cache support (4.21), domain-bound license check and self-healing upgrades.
