CS-Cart enforces its own PHP range: for example 4.17.x runs on PHP up to 8.1, 4.18.x up to 8.2 and 4.19–4.21 up to 8.3. Our add-ons work with any PHP version from 7.4 to 8.3, but they can’t run on a PHP version your CS-Cart release doesn’t support.

Each add-on’s Overview page shows its minimum CS-Cart version. If an add-on needs something newer than 4.17.2, both that page and the marketplace listing say so.

For every supported version, we:

  • test the add-on on a clean install of that version, on both editions where applicable
  • fix bugs reported for that version
  • keep the add-on installable and upgradable through the Upgrade Center
  • We test our add-ons against each new CS-Cart minor release (4.x) soon after it comes out, and publish fixes if they’re needed.
  • Each add-on declares the CS-Cart range it supports in its package, currently up to 4.21.x. CS-Cart blocks installing it on a newer version until we have tested that version and released an update that raises the range.
  • On 4.21 we also test with the full page cache (Performance Booster) switched on, so pages shared between guests never show one visitor’s data to another.
  • If a CS-Cart release needs changes we can’t make backwards-compatible, we release a new version of the add-on. The changelog states the new minimum CS-Cart version.

We raise the minimum CS-Cart or PHP version only in a major or minor add-on release, never in a patch release. The changelog announces it under Upgrade notes. Older add-on versions keep working on older platforms. You simply won’t get new features on them.

  • Other add-ons: we avoid conflicts by using hooks only and by prefixing everything with kv_. When a conflict happens anyway, we treat it as a bug on our side and work on a fix. See Troubleshooting.
  • Customised core files: if your store’s core files were modified, we can’t guarantee compatibility, but we’ll still try to help.
  • Browsers: storefront features support the current and previous major versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop and mobile.
