Usage
Everything Fetch shows comes from standard CS-Cart data: product features, product options, product filters, categories, banners, promotions, blog posts and reviews. There are no extra tables to fill.
Pets, life stages, breed sizes and diets
Section titled “Pets, life stages, breed sizes and diets”Create four product features of the type Multiple checkboxes (the codes are optional; features with these names work too):
| Feature (code) | Example variants | Used by |
|---|---|---|
Pet (FT_PET) |
Dog, Cat, Fish, Bird, Small pet | My pets, food finder, “Good for” hints, Made for panel, filter |
Life stage (FT_STAGE) |
Puppy & kitten, Adult, Senior | Shop by life stage, life stage bar, My pets, food finder, Made for panel, “For Senior” on cards, filter |
Breed size (FT_SIZE) |
Toy, Small, Medium, Large, Giant | My pets and food finder (dogs), Made for panel, filter |
Diet (FT_DIET) |
Grain free, Sensitive stomach, Weight care, High protein, Hypoallergenic | food finder, Made for panel, filter |
Tick every value a product suits. Add a product filter on each feature (Products → Filters): the links of
Shop by life stage, the life stage bar, the My pets chips and the food finder then open filtered lists
(features_hash) that shoppers can refine further. Without filters the links still work through the features.
- Shop by life stage (homepage): one card per Life stage variant with products. The colour and illustration follow the name: words like puppy, kitten or junior = young, senior or mature = senior, everything else = adult.
- Life stage bar (category and search pages): “All life stages” plus one chip per stage that has products in the list; the chosen stage is kept when shoppers use the other filters.
- Shop by pet (homepage): a categories block with your first-level categories. A category whose name contains dog, cat, fish or aquarium, bird, or small pet / rabbit / hamster gets that pet’s colour.
My pets
Section titled “My pets”Shoppers click Add a pet in the bar under the category band and choose the pet, an optional name, the life stage,
the breed size (dogs) and a diet. Up to four pets are kept. Each pet becomes a chip that opens the matching products;
the pencil button edits or removes it. Product cards and product pages of matching products (same pet and, when set,
the same life stage) show Good for
Profiles are stored only in the shopper’s browser (localStorage), never in your store: they are not personal data on
your side, they do not affect the page cache, and they disappear when the shopper clears the browser data.
Food finder
Section titled “Food finder”The Food finder block (Template) shows the variants of Pet, Life stage, Breed size (for dogs) and Diet as chips. Show my matches opens the standard product search with every chosen filter, inside the food category of the chosen pet: a subcategory of the pet’s department whose name contains “food” (for example Dog → Dog food). Without such a category the search covers all products. “Save as my pet on this device” adds the answers to My pets.
Bag sizes and price per kg
Section titled “Bag sizes and price per kg”Give food products a product option such as Bag size with one variant per pack and a price modifier, for example
2 kg (+0), 6 kg (+22.00), 12 kg (+47.00). The variant names must be just the weight (500 g, 4.4 lb,
12 x 85 g work too). Fetch then:
- shows the sizes as small chips on product cards and as size buttons on product pages;
- shows the price per kg next to the price, updated when the shopper picks another size.
Products without a size option use the number feature Net weight (FT_WEIGHT, in kg). Quantity discounts
(Qty discounts tab) work as usual and are listed on the product page.
Badges
Section titled “Badges”Checkbox features shown as badges:
| Feature (code) | Badge |
|---|---|
Vet approved (FT_VET) |
Vet approved |
Grain free (FT_GRAINFREE) |
Grain free |
Natural ingredients (FT_NATURAL) |
Natural ingredients |
Real meat first (FT_MEAT) |
Real meat first |
Cards show the first one in this order; the product page lists all of them in the Made for panel. A feature
Brand (FT_BRAND, Select box) is shown above the product name.
Repeat delivery
Section titled “Repeat delivery”When an add-on whose ID contains subscri, recurring, autoship or repeat order is installed and active, product pages show a Repeat delivery hint above the delivery rows. The text points shoppers to the delivery options of your store; set up the schedules in that add-on. Without such an add-on nothing is shown.
Homepage
Section titled “Homepage”- Hero slider: banners of the block “Fetch hero” (Website → Themes → Layouts). For each graphic banner the image is the scene shown in the arch (the right part of the image matters most), the banner name is the headline (its last word gets the hand-drawn underline). On the banner page set the eyebrow, the text, the button labels, a second button and a paired product for the price sticker (Kavio banner details). Slides change every 7 seconds (block setting), never on their own for visitors who prefer reduced motion.
- Best sellers / New arrivals / Deals: product blocks with the user class
kv-tabsnext to each other become one tabbed section. - Promo banners: the block “Fetch promos” (two or three banners).
- Brands we stock: an HTML block; edit the names and links. On Multi-Vendor the store cards replace it.
Product page: Complete the starter kit
Section titled “Product page: Complete the starter kit”Under the tabs Fetch offers the product with two popular products of the same department (other subcategories, in stock). The three are added to the cart in one go; shoppers can untick items. Stores running the Kavio Frequently Bought Together add-on see that add-on’s block instead.
Styles
Section titled “Styles”Website → Themes → Styles: Park, Meadow, Whiskers, Nightwalk. Colours and fonts can be changed in the Theme editor per style.
