Web Push Campaigns

Add-on ID: kv_web_push · Edition: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor · Latest version: 1.0.0 · Compatible with: CS-Cart & Multi-Vendor 4.17.2 – 4.21.x, PHP 7.4 – 8.3 · Changelog: view

Send browser push notifications from your own store. Visitors allow notifications with one click; your store sends campaigns and the product alerts they asked for, encrypted and signed with your own VAPID keys. There is no push service account to open and no price per subscriber.

  • Permission card, bell and product buttons: the browser’s permission prompt opens only after the visitor clicks Allow, the bell or an alert button. Browsers penalise sites that ask on page load.
  • Campaigns: title, text, link, large image and icon, with a live preview. Send now or at a set date and hour, to all subscribers, signed-in customers or guests, by language and (CS-Cart Ultimate) storefront.
  • Product alerts: “Alert me in this browser when it is back” on out-of-stock products and “Alert me in this browser if the price drops” on the others. The alert goes out when the product is back in stock or its catalog price falls by your minimum.
  • Counters: sent, failed, expired, clicks and click rate per campaign; subscribers, messages and open alerts on the dashboard.
  • Delivery: cron batches, retries for busy push services; browsers that cancelled their subscription are marked expired.
  • CS-Cart 4.21: the add-on joins the core service worker, next to the PWA add-on, instead of registering a second one.

The add-on uses the Web Push standard (VAPID, RFC 8292; message encryption, RFC 8291). Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Samsung Internet and Safari 16 or newer on macOS implement it. On iPhone and iPad, Safari supports web push only for sites added to the Home Screen; the add-on shows no card or buttons in a normal Safari tab there. We tested delivery end to end with Microsoft Edge and its push service.
